VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY! Thanks to our incredible community partner Blue Zones Project - Bakersfield, a blanket-making event will be held on September 25th at the Rasmussen Senior Center. Donations of fleece material to make tie blankets are currently being accepted at the locations listed. Mark your calendars and stay tuned for more information!

Wasco staff, Flood Ministries provides resources to unhoused population Wasco Code Compliance staff and Flood Ministries employees team up weekly to locate unhoused people in Wasco and try to make contact with them in an attempt to provide resources.

Flood is thrilled to start showing precious move-in memories of resilient, empowered people who have overcome extreme adversity to find stable housing! The first is Frederick, who never gave up hope, and stayed true to his dream of exiting homelessness and creating a beautiful new life. Welcome home, friend!

TODAY IS THE DAY! A huge thank you to Just Dance Thursdays, C&S Xperience, Clover Entertainment Group, and Prism Dance Project for joining forces to aid people experiencing homelessness in Kern County! And of course, Havana for Housing with Flood! would not be possible without the hard work of our local champion Stephanie Alvarez! The event will feature a beginner salsa class, followed by a night of social dancing. This event will also offer a 50/50 raffle, and delicious treats by Get it twisted! HELPING THE HOMELESS: The Arvin Navigation Center builds the first Free Little Library in the community The library is part of the ANC's Visionary Volunteers Program, which hopes to address one of the greatest challenges for their clients after being housed—social interaction.
Tammy entered into homelessness when her father passed away; she was no longer able to care for herself, and she had no support system. Despite several disabilities and her grief, she did not
give up on finding a housing solution. Flood is grateful for the opportunity to have joined Tammy on her path to housing, and is thrilled to report that she is now safe and sound in her brand-new
