Dental receptionist

Duties:
-Greet patients
-Answer phones & schedule appointments
-Verify insurance coverage and collect necessary information
-Assist with billing
-Maintain patient records & ensure accuracy of information
-Coordinate with staff to ensure smooth patient flow
-Provide excellent customer service & address patient inquiries or concerns

Experience:
-Familiarity with dental terminology & procedures is necessary
-Strong communication & interpersonal skills
-Attention to detail & ability to multitask in a fast- paced environment

WHO IS BEHIND THE MASK?

🦷🦠With state guidelines still requiring masks in all healthcare facilities we thought we’d remind our patients who is behind the mask when they come to see us!

First up is Denise, one of our two hygienists!

How long have you been in dentistry?
🔹Since the Mesozoic era where I first met Dale (24 million years ago) while caring for our pet dinosaurs but I’ve been at Politz and Associates for 21 wonderful years!

What do you love most about working with patients?
🔹I love getting to know each patient on a personal level so that I can provide the best possible care that fits their needs and lifestyle

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
🔹Taking long walks on the beach, gardening, and traveling the world

What is your favorite food?
🔹Chocolate and sardines. My nickname is Snackopotomus because i am always munching on something!

Did you know that dental visits are listed among health appointments people should consider keeping despite the pandemic?

The Washington Post included dental visits in a list of “five health practices that experts say you might want to reconsider delaying” despite the coronavirus pandemic. Dental problems “early on – like very small decay in a tooth – rarely have symptoms, so people often aren’t aware they have a problem until a dentist examines their teeth, said [Dr.] Chad Gehani, president of the American Dental Association.” Hence “the recommended checkups and cleanings every three, six or 12 months, depending on the person’s oral health status, ‘to help spot dental health problems when treatment is effective and more affordable,’ he said.”

In addition, Dr. Rob Davidson, an emergency physician in West Michigan, shared in a video discussion on MSNBC that he considers the risk of dental problems from delaying care greater than the risk of contracting the virus at the dentist.
