As Hurricane Francine makes landfall this evening, we expect the weather to deteriorate after 5 p.m. Please remember that the campus is under a shelter in place order until 1 p.m. Thursday. Consequently, the campus will remain closed on Thursday and remote classes for Thursday are cancelled.
Announcements concerning Friday operations will be made after the storm has passed and we assess any impacts.

After the 10PM update we are expecting landfall in the next 18 hours and tropical storm winds to begin tomorrow morning. Baton Rouge does have a chance of severe weather alongside flooding and power outage concerns. There is some wind shear that could weaken or strengthen the storm.

Follow Tiger TV and for constant updates as Hurricane Francine continues on its path.

The LSU campus will be closed but classes will be held remotely on Wednesday, Sept. 11, and Thursday, Sept. 12. Students should communicate directly with their professors with any questions about online classes.

All events and activities on campus will be cancelled beginning today at 4:30 p.m. through Thursday.
