Eastex Urgent Care is currently expanding our clinic to better serve our urgent care patients and our Occupational Medicine clients. The addition will allow a dedicated wing for our Eastex Urgent Care: Occupational Medicine department while freeing up space in our current floor plan to address additional urgent care needs.

While our clinic is excited to expand, we understand the unavoidable mess and noise from construction may, at times, impact your visit. We apologize for any inconvenience but promise to limit any interruption it may cause in order to continue the standard and quality of care you have come to expect from Eastex Urgent Care & Occupational Medicine.

Our clinic is looking for qualified & friendly professionals with experience as a Front-Desk Receptionist, as a Medical Assistant, or as a Radiology Technologist in an urgent care, emergency department, occupational medicine clinic, or a busy medical setting.

Eastex Urgent Care is proud to spotlight a medical provider & friend that has been with Eastex since soon after opening, Barri Hoffman, MSN, RN, FNP-BC!

Barri has brought over 30 years of experience in direct patient care to Eastex Urgent Care, including over 20 years as a Medical Provider. Barri originally began her medical career as a nurse in 1993 and went on to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lamar University in 2001 and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas-Houston Health Science Center in 2003. Barri's experience includes family practice & primary care, both urgent care & emergency medicine, and nephrology. Barri also owns her own family medicine practice in Silsbee, Head to Toe Family Healthcare. Eastex is lucky to have Barri offer the same competent, experienced, and caring approach to medicine within our clinic that she offers her patients in primary care.

Barri is originally from Pennsylvania, but currently resides in Silsbee, within the community that she practices and calls home. She has proudly raised two children and now enjoys doating over her granddaughter. She also enjoys travel, unique experiences, and sharing her beautiful sense of humor to all fortunate to know her and call her friend. Barri is an avid supporter of the local arts, which can be seen in her continuous contributions and illustrious credits at the Silsbee Little Theater.

We are grateful to have Barri as part of the Eastex Urgent Care family and appreciate the experience and compassion she shares with our patients.

Dishman SON would like to share another Alumni Spotlight! It's always inspiring to see our alumni making an effect in the nursing community, and Eric Godeaux is a shining example of excellence. Eric began his journey in 2015, graduating with an Associate Degree in Respiratory Care. In 2018, he graduated with his BSN from our program. This, of course, we feel set a solid foundation for his future endeavors! Eric then continued his passion for nursing in 2020 by completing his MSN, and FNP at UT Health Houston. And then also from UTHealth Houston, in 2021, he completed a Post-Masters in Emergency/Trauma Nurse Practitioner.
Eric's career track showcases his dedication and commitment to continuous learning. From his early days as a respiratory therapist at Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas to his current role as Lead Nurse Practitioner at Altus ER in Lumberton and part-time work at Eastex Urgent Care in Beaumont. Eric's journey has been marked by growth and achievement.

Eric feels these achievements have not only provided him with a fulfilling career but also a sense of purpose in serving the community of Southeast Texas. His advice to the current nursing students is to prioritize time management, maintain a balance between work and personal life, and never stop learning.
As Eric rightly points out, nursing school lays the foundation for our knowledge, and it's essential to continuously invest in self-education. Let's follow Eric's example: be kind, gracious, and always willing to share knowledge. Together, we can endeavor for excellence in nursing and make a difference in the lives of those we serve. Thank you Eric for just being amazing. We are so proud!

This week the Eastex staff & friends celebrated Heather Layne Green & her growing family by showering her & baby Reese with love & gifts. We are excited for both Heather & Colton, and know Reese is blessed with great parents and lots of support from caring friends and family. We wish Reese, and his parents, a lifetime filled with love, joy, and laughter. May your journey into parenthood be filled with wonderful moments and cherished memories.
