This month highlights awareness of Alzheimer's and other diseases that affect the brain.
More than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's, and that statistic is expected to rise to 13 million by 2050. Moreover, only 40% of Americans will talk to their doctor when they experience memory and cognitive loss. While this disease is not reversible, medical imaging like MRI is a powerful tool in early detection and diagnosis.

Stroke is the number 2 cause of death worldwide, and the leading cause of disability according to the American Stroke Association.
Strokes are life-changing events, both physically and mentally. That's why it's crucial to diagnose and treat a stroke to build the best possible care plan.
CT and MRI scans are imaging techniques that are excellent tools for diagnosing the type of stroke- hemorrhagic or ischemic. A CT scan can identify the location of any abnormalities in the brain tissue. MRIs can uncover any brain damage within an hour of the onset of the stroke symptoms and can detect abnormalities too small to be detected by CT. Diagnostic Health offers both CT and MRI services for stroke detection and diagnosis.

Did you know...🤔
MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) doesn't use any ionizing radiation like X-rays or CT scans do. Instead, MRI utilizes strong magnetic fields and radio waves to generate detailed images of the body's internal structures. This makes it a safer imaging option for certain populations, such as pregnant women and children, as it doesn't expose them to radiation.
