Hey everyone, just an announcement that KidMed will be closed Thursday, July 4th, and Friday, July 5th in observance of the Independence Day Holiday. Please utilize local urgent cares or emergency rooms for urgent medical issues during this time. We will reopen for regularly scheduled hours at 8 am on Monday, July 8th. If you would like to comment this thread with pictures of your wonderful kiddos enjoying the festivities, we would absolutely love it. Be safe and have fun! This is an announcement that for the time being, we are suspending having Friday afternoon clinic and close at lunch after the Friday morning sessions. This change is temporary and as soon as possible we will get back to having those afternoon appointments. If you have some Friday afternoon appointments with us already scheduled, please expect a call from us to reschedule you to either another day or the Friday morning session. We are so sorry for the inconvenience, and again as soon as possible we will open those appointments back up. Thank you so much for understanding, and enjoy your summer!

This is just a reminder that KidMed is now accepting patients of all ages (up until age 21, you sneaky adults), with all private (commercial) plans, self pay, and certain medicaid insurance plans. Many of those who have been with us a while know that we do this from time to time due to demand, and we will continue as long as we can handle the volume of patients without sacrificing quality of care. If you would like your child to be a patient at KidMed, give us a call and our staff can walk you through the process. We are so grateful to all of you who trust us to care for your children, and hope everyone has a great summer!

Call the office at 409-363-5711 to get your child scheduled, you do not have to be a patient at KidMed to schedule an appointment!

Good morning everyone,

Dr. Bell here. As many of you know, we do lots of clinical trials/studies at KidMed and Tekton Research Beaumont, the clinical research clinic for which I am the primary investigator (right there in our building complex). We do studies for both pediatrics and adults. I am extremely proud of the work we do in research, and many of the studies we have done have directly led to innovations in medical science and effective treatments for all ages. To this end, I am going to be advertising different studies on this page in the near future. These posts will come directly from me. This is only so that those who are interested in participating in studies have an opportunity to do so without having to hear it from me in person. There is never any obligation for any patient to participate, and your relationship with KidMed does not change whether you do or don't do a study. I realize that clinical research is a charged subject since the COVID pandemic and that some, including both KidMed patients and nonpatients, are not comfortable with it. That is absolutely fine and respected. I only ask that if you see an ad or post from KidMed or Tekton talking about a study, that you don't be ugly. Just keep scrolling and cursing Dr. Bell to yourself. Not being interested in research is perfectly valid, but so is being interested in it. I respect both opinions and would appreciate the same in turn. Additionally, know that doing research has never and will never pull me away from my patients at KidMed. Kidmed and the patients therein are my life, my name, and my calling. Other projects will never jeopardize that. Thanks for listening, and if you are someone who is interested in studies, we have some pretty exciting stuff coming down the line. Have a great weekend, everyone.

It has been brought to our attention that you are unable to call into the clinic if you have AT&T as your service provider (although I feel they are the superior provider, but I digress)
