In honor of World Breast feeding week I am sharing this wonderful Facebook account with my friends. Lauren J. Turner Fine Art is capturing the true essence of the beautiful bond between not only mother and child during feedings but also the support from family and community that is needed for a women to successfully feed her baby this way. Her work is for sale!
Here we are! Files Family of 6! From left to right - Ava, Adam (hubby), Nate, Mia, Me, Marcus. It was a photo shoot to remember for sure. Our photographer had to keep shoeing away cows and donkeys. It had rained a good deal that week so we were jumping puddles, cow patties and swatting mosquitos. But in the end we got it done and I am very happy with the results. Hopefully, it won't be another 8 years before we do a family photo.
My husband took this photo of Mia and I 2 weeks ago and framed it for me for Mother’s Day. It is particularly special because this was one of the last times I nursed her. I have nursed all 4 of my children and it’s always emotional for me at the end. Anyway, I am wishing you all a very Happy Mother’s Day!
Hey Runner Girl- read this. And share this with young athletes in your life. “Your fastest performances happen because of puberty.
Puberty brings increased bone density, tendon stiffness, stronger muscles, and a monthly sign that you’re fueling well (your period)!”
Thanks - well said!

Hey, runner girl: I need to talk to you.
You have not peaked.
Getting your period does not mean you’ll slow down.
Growing hips and breasts does not mean your fastest times are behind you.
Not PR’ing, even for an entire season, does not mean you’re not fast anymore.
These myths are so common, we take them as truth.
I’ve heard them said by runners, coaches and parents.
I know you’ve thought it.
This is your official source that none of it is true.
Your fastest performances lie on the other side of puberty.
Your fastest performances happen because of puberty.
Puberty brings increased bone density, tendon stiffness, stronger muscles, and a monthly sign that you’re fueling well (your period)!
While these changes are beneficial overall, in the short term they can make you feel a bit foreign in your own body.
This feeling is temporary. As your body adjusts to these helpful adaptations, you’ll see your times get faster. Because you can train more consistently with stronger bones, muscles and tendons.
It won’t happen all at once. Puberty is a years long process. This brings moments, seasons even, of plateaus in performance, which feels frustrating.
Stick with it. Be good to yourself. Be patient. Know that your potential is building.
When your body is ready, you’re going to amaze yourself.
You’ve got this.
We’ve got this
Keep it up, girl.
Whatever you do, don’t give up on yourself.
Mic drop 🎤! This is the message a patient sent me today. Y’all, seriously…. It does not get any better than this. This particular patient has had severe pain with gynecological examinations since forever and has never had pain free seggs with her husband until now! Hello! I freakin love being a pelvic floor physical therapist❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I am so thrilled to offer this little cozy space we are lovingly calling the “Mama Baby Room”. So many mothers bring their infants with them to physical therapy. It’s the only way they can make it happen. It’s always time for baby to eat either before, during or after therapy. I have always encouraged mothers to feel free to feed their infants in the clinic but now there is a dedicated space for this precious necessity. I can’t tell you how many times I have nursed a baby in the car before or after an appointment. I have changed too many diapers in my backseat.
What a sincere and brave testimony from this patient! Did you know that pelvic PTs can help you heal your c-section scar? If you still having discomfort in your abdominal scar from c-section, hysterectomy, or abdominoplasty manual therapy provided by a skilled body worker like a pelvic PT can make a huge difference. Scar can be painful. This patient was limited in what she could wear because of discomfort at her scar. Some patients have pain deep abdominal and pelvic pain with in*******se due to fascial adhesions that form under and around the scar. Others loose connection to their lower abdominal muscles and feel weakness. This weakness can cause them to restrict themselves from activities they once loved to do and fear of injury from exercise. Physical Therapist have a through knowledge of tissue healing whether it be skin, muscle, tendon or bone. We know when and how to apply manual techniques and the appropriate exercise to guide and facilitate healing. We are the rehabilitation experts!
Google review of Elevate Pelvic Health by Brooke Hillin ★★★★★ "I’ve had pain from my csection 2 years ago and was super worried about it causing issues with future pregnancies. Before seeing Danielle, I couldn’t touch my scar, and had to wear seamless underwear because of tenderness. After working with her I can wear the thick banded kind a...
The female body goes through so many musculoskeletal changes that it really can be compared to an injury sustained by an athlete during sport. Of course you would rehab an ankle sprain or a knee surgery! So why don’t we think about rehabilitating over stretched abdominals, stiff back, and weak pelvic floors in the same way.
I just finished the pelvic floor module for the PCES course🥳. It covered how to assess and treat issues like hypertonic pelvic floor, hypotonic pelvic floor by looking at the entire body, leaking with exercise, progressing a patient with pelvic organ prolapse to impact exercise safely, running analysis and lifting weights. Now I’m gearing up for a long evening of learning. The next module is diastasis Recti. Mia and I took a lunch break mid-day and just finished and evening walk to refresh my brain and get some movement in. Cheers to learning👏🏻😍
I just turned my home into a learning lab. I’ll be working on my Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist course this weekend while my husband and theee big kids are visiting Grammy and Grampy.

Elevate Pelvic Health Helping women achieve a lifetime of Relief, Restoration, Recovery from Pelvic Dysfunction and Pain
October is National Physical Therapy Month. Did you know in Texas, you don’t need a doctors referral to be evaluated by a physical therapist? Did you also know that for over a decade, any PT graduating in the United Texas has a doctorate degree in physical therapy? Finally, did you know that PTs can specialize and even be board certified in geriatrics, orthopedics, women’s health, neuro, etc. I love this profession and couldn’t image doing anything else.
My reason for all that I do.
And we’re back! Well I’m back anyways. Sonny has been holding down the fort at Elevate Pelvic Health for the last 12 weeks while I was out bonding with Mia and learning how to be a mom of 4! Now I get to figure out how to balance being a mom of 4 and run a business. It really does feel good to be back at work. I am so thankful for all the love and support from family, friends, patients and community. If you have been procrastinating and aren’t scheduled yet please give Sonny a call. We are 86% booked for the next 3 months and are booking new patients into February. Also, if you know of anyone who might want to join our team we are hiring a pelvic floor PT or OT.
