When you're feeling stressed and tense, it can be hard to get a good night's sleep. The best way to combat stress and tension is with a deep tissue massage! Deep tissue massage can help to alleviate chronic pain and reduce stress, as well as improve posture. By increasing blood flow and oxygen to the affected area, deep tissue massage helps to reduce tension and pain. This type of massage is also used to break up scar tissue, reduce inflammation, and improve circulation.

Hydration Recipe
Keeping hydrated is an important part of staying healthy. Water promotes cardiovascular health, keeps your body cool, helps muscles and joints work better and keeps skin supple. Here is this week’s hydration recipe:

Papaya Lime Water
Ingredients:
½ Papaya, cut into chunks
½ Lime, cut into slices
Water

Instructions:
Combine all ingredients in a pitcher of water.
Refrigerate until chilled – about 1 hour.

Breathing Exercise to Relieve Stress
Here is a quick breathing exercise you can use anytime, anywhere to help you calm the nervous system, increase focus, and reduce stress:
• Sit comfortably with your back straight.
• Breathe in through your nose for a count of four.
• Hold for a count four.
• Exhale through your mouth for a count of four, pushing out as much air as you can while contracting your abdominal muscles.
• Continue to breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth until you feel your body relax.

Scalp massage is something you can do anywhere, anytime, to relax and feel refreshed. Just follow the instructions below:
• Place the heel of your palms under your hair on either side of your head near your temples.
• Push the scalp up toward the ceiling, hold a few seconds, and release.
• Work in sections across your entire scalp.
There... now don't you feel better already!

Hydration Recipe
Keeping hydrated is an important part of staying healthy. Water promotes cardiovascular health, keeps your body cool, helps muscles and joints work better and keeps skin supple. Here is this week’s hydration recipe:

Lemon Blueberry Water
Ingredients:
½ lemon cut into slices
Handful of blueberries, muddled
Water

Instructions:
Slice the lemon
Muddle the blueberries
Add all ingredients to a pitcher of water.
Refrigerate until chilled – about 1 hour.

DIY Hand Massage
In between massage appointments use these simple tips to give yourself a simple & easy hand massage! Perfect for after long days of typing on the keyboard!
1. Flex your wrist up and down and turn it from side to side. Rotate it several times in both directions.
2. To massage your palm, support the back of your hand with your fingers and make small rotary motions with your thumb pad over one spot at a time.
3. Massage the mound at the base of the thumb.
4. Repeat

Spring is upon us. It’s time to dust off winter, take a deep breath, and ready ourselves for a new season. It can be a busy time of year, but don’t stress. No, really, don't stress. Stress is a natural negative reaction in your mind and body to challenges. And while it can positively motivate you to get through certain obstacles, it can also wreak havoc on your physical and mental health.
You can't escape stress, but you can change how you deal with it. When you're faced with anxiety:
• Take a deep breath and focus on why you're actually feeling this way.
• Take a walk or do any exercise where you can think about the situation and how to handle it without blowing up, figuratively and literally.
• Be proactive and schedule regular massage appointments. (once we can do so!) Massage has been shown to reduce stress significantly on physical and psychological levels.
