A big key to success with Invisalign treatment is wearing the aligners 22 hours each day. That's an 11-to-1 ratio of aligners moving teeth forward vs. allowing them to drift. When one reduces aligner wear to 20 hours per day (see the image below), the ratio drops precipitously to a 5-to-1 ratio. That typically results in longer and less effective treatment. With disciplined aligner wear, you will greatly increase your chances of a great result in less time!

If you're looking for a nice, close town place to spend a few days away, I'd suggest looking into Lynden, WA, near the Canadian border. Of course I had to try the local BBQ fare. This place has alder-smoked pork belly burnt ends, and they were fantastic. I've only known folks to use alder when smoking salmon, but it's now on my list for pork and poultry. They offer very tasty pickled veggies, and their sauces include two of the three legendary Carolina types. Lynden is fairly close to Bellingham, Blaine, and Abbotsford, B.C.

At Mojave National Preserve, my son took this sunset shot on his descent from the top of the tallest dune.

My son and I are desert rats! This panoramic shot is from our Kelso Dunes hike in the Mojave National Preserve. It was 110 degrees in the afternoon, so we timed our hike to catch the sunset from the top. It was spectacular. As is our tradition, we played music and watched the stars dot the sky, and then hiked down by moonlight.

Invisalign offers a great new feature, allowing me to design treatment, upload the plan, and have it available for order two minutes later! We used to have to wait for a technician to process the changes we made, often taking 1-3 days. On Thursday we took a scan in the morning, and I had the aligners ordered that evening. This will really cut down on wait times between series of aligners!
