Growing Our Future is a charity organization in Northern Minnesota that supplies free gardening kits and resources to area youth ages 18 and under. We are entirely donation-funded and volunteer-run, so 100% of your donation goes back into organization operations.

We could really use a printer and a computer or iPad to create social media and website content, and update our website more efficiently. Your support means the world to us!

It may not be spring yet, but it sure feels like it is! We’ve decided to get ahead of the game this year and offer kits earlier in the season. Our Summer gardening kit request form is now open! Kits are to be picked up in the last week of February/First week of March. Please fill out the request form to the best of your ability and let us know if you have any questions! The form is on the landing page of our website www.growingourfuturemn.com.

Kits are available to Youth ages 18 and under.

Best of Bemidji Help to choose the Best of the Bemidji area for 2023!

Our plant sale fundraiser goes from 11-4:30 today at located at 4905 Bemidji Ave N. All seedlings are grown organically and without fertilizer, which makes for an extremely healthy plant.

We have numerous different types of vegetable seedling, including various pumpkins, cucumbers, gourds, and squash, beans, peas, cabbage, broccoli, tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, and herbs. We also have Onion sets, tulip bulbs and hyacinth bulbs available.
We have some unique hot peppers, that aren’t sold anywhere else locally, as well.

Stop by the Rail River Folk School in Bemidji for some free plants and seeds today from 1-4pm!! The Indigenous Environmental Network has some great seedlings and some seed from their garden. We have some seedlings and OODLES Of free seeds. We will have a seed bomb workshop as well!! Stop on by and check it out! We’re in the open door across from the white jeep. 😊 🌱❤️

Plant giveaway and seed swap set for May 14 The Indigenous Environmental Network, Growing Our Future and Grow Bemidji will host Plant Giveaway and Seed Swap from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 14, at the Rail River Folk School, 303 Railroad St. SW.

What a perfect day to bring the seedlings outside!!

Remember, your seedlings are still too young to stay outside through the cooler weather at night. You can bring them out during the day, but we recommend bringing them in at night until the evening temperatures are more consistent.

I spent my afternoon transplanting tomatoes! Was anyone else able to spend some time in the warm weather this week? Comment your photos of your families outdoors for a chance to win an herb seed bundle (with plant stakes)!!

Hey Everyone! We have Kit pick-ups starting this weekend, which means we have some serious prep work to do. Join us Tomorrow, the 24th from 4-6pm and help us get organized! We will be assembling seed pack bundles, and miniature bags of dirt, for sure. If we have enough volunteers, we will also be assembling full kits for area youth! If you don’t have any plans tomorrow, definitely consider joining us. We will have some snacks and refreshments, and you can be sure to leave with a few packs of seed for your own gardens, as well!
