Our first Toddler Storytime sessions of Summer 2024 focused on the lovely season of SUMMER! We had a special guest, Jacob, who read one of our books - ‘I See Summer’ by Charles Ghigna. We sang a song and created a feltboard collage of summer symbols. We also painted glorious summer suns with sponges and fingers! **Reminder:** you can choose from a 9:30 AM or a 10:30 AM session this summer. We’ve grown in participation and needed to space the crowds out a bit! Come join us every Wednesday through August 7th!

We have Martha & you covered today - SUNDAY - as our raffle will be open inside the library from 12-6! No doubt Martha, who was an avid letter writer, would be impressed with our Crane stationary basket, which includes a $35 box of the finest paper & made in the USA! 🇺🇸 I bet she’d place a few tickets in our hand-painted Chautauqua Lake bench; our puzzle baskets with lemonade & treats; our hand-crafted wood box made by Fluvanna artisan, John Bonnet; or the hand-dyed, silk scarf & jewelry made by Bemus resident, Darcy Steber. And unlike most women in the colonies at the time, Martha learned to read, so she’d appreciate that most of our baskets include books! We know Martha would support OUR library, just like you do! Come on down today, bring a friend, & say hello to our raffle volunteers.
Tickets: 26 for $10, 52 for $15

Colonial Americans consumed roughly three times the amount of alcoholic beverages than we do today, so imagine their delight with our 30 spirit raffle baskets! After winning the Revolution and fulfilling his duties as our first president, George Washington retired to Mount Vernon and ran one of the largest whiskey distilleries in the nation. I imagine he’d be intrigued by our 3 gallon, portable keg of Fireball and our Southern Tier vodka and whiskey offerings, too. Thomas Jefferson, a noted wine connoisseur, would likely place tickets on our multiple wine baskets, while those early New England colonists - who imported and produced copious amounts of rum - would rave about our Pina Colada basket, with its huge bottle of Bacardi, mixers, glasses and paper umbrellas. And…we have beautiful bar cart items, tequila, and EBC & Southern Tier ale and beers. Come place your tickets today & get your summer parties started.
Tickets: 26 for $10 OR 52 for $15 - what a deal!
Hours: MTF 10-5, Wed. 1-5, Thurs. 10-7, Sat. 10-2
