Sound to Noise
A short story created in my memory therapy off of a one line image that said: "May all that has been reduced to noise in you, become music again."
I have been released from therapy, because I have proven that I'm successfully using ALL of the work arounds they had to offer. Given that I'm existing at barely-functional, I can't really celebrate that.
I got to try the Artflow beta for some new features, and it's pretty cool. Different formats, layout, and editing options.
I didn't realize I hadn't posted an update here this week.
I survived!
The hole in my spine is already starting to close!
We figured out which surgery wash I'm actually allergic to and I'm not suffering the usual horrible post-surgery reactions!
I'm feeling sick as F*** as I switch from too low CSF pressure to too high.
My Neurosurgery teams are telling me that the only way to get my VP Shunt setting lowered in the short term (we kept raising it to nearly turned off while I was leaking) is to go to the Emergency Department at OHSU (4-5 hours away).
On the one hand... success! After seeping CSF out the shattered LP Shunt for most of the last 2 years, I'm finally being able to heal up.
On the other hand... my brain is now back to trying to crush itself inside my skull.
This isn't unexpected. It's just very unpleasant to experience.
Getting ready for surgery tomorrow. Got to the next Artflow ai prompt, and went... huh, maybe I should post that even if I'm not drawing or anything. It's kinda fun.
I seem to keep repeating this, but not have posted it everywhere, so:
I have Pseudotumor Cerebri / Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension. I developed it when I was 25. One of the earliest treatments was a shunt set into my spine to drain off excess fluid.
(There has a been a LOT of stuff since, including shunts set into my brain, but anyway...) A few years ago I seemed to have developed a leak but we couldn't find it right away. It turned out the original shunt system's plastics had decayed and it was what was leaking. When they tried to go in and just tie it off, it shattered when they touched it. So now I'm leaking worse, and they are going to try to remove it.
I'm still in "scheduling" but I've completed one pre-op appointment and I've got another soon.
😅😂🤣 Voices chosen at random. This is a test, only a test.
