We had an amazing time racing at the Cascade Cycling Classic Criterium this weekend! After a 7-year hiatus, this iconic crit made a triumphant return to downtown Bend, just a few miles from our headquarters. 🚴‍♂️✨

After a long career racing in the pro peloton, Cando has confidently earned the title of “great.” When we started our conversation about the perfect bike for him, there was no doubt that anything less than the Supernaut would simply not be up to the task.

From its inception, our gravel bike has been designed with one word in mind: speed. With tight chain stays that create snappy, crit-like acceleration and a front end more typical of a cross-country race rig, the GR3 pushes the boundaries of what’s possible.

Never satisfied with “good enough,” we constantly iterate and improve our designs, even after they’ve left the mold. Engineering tells only one side of the story; real-world riding reveals the more intangible aspects. Inspired by its cornering prowess, our resident enduro pro and ride tester decided to explore just how flat out flat bars could take the GR3.

Our head painter, Matt Meehan, is a wizard and pulls off a candy clear over raw carbon like no one else. This is a “have your cake and eat it too” paint design where you still get to see the intricate and diligent carbon layup pattern, but also get the vibrance of a deep, rich color. We say we don’t make art bikes… but we kinda do. Art tools? Whatever.. just go ride your bike! AJ’s bike will soon arrive for final build.

Mike and Leigh picked up their new Custom GR3’s today. They were both fitted here at Argonaut HQ a couple months ago, and drove down from Washington today for pickup. Both are gorgeous bikes, but Leigh’s matte British Racing Green with hazelnut highlights is a personal favorite.
