Our end of Summer Reading celebration will be on Wednesday July 31 at 12:30 PM. We will feature Toby KID's Jedi Adventure 1 man play. After this we will be drawing for the 20 big prizes from all the turned in Reading Logs!

You do not have to be present to win if your name is drawn, but those in attendance will get first pick.

Congratulations to each of the three winners of our Smokey the Bear coloring contest! The winner of each age group has received a bonus entry in the Summer Reading Final Prize drawings to happen on July 31! Stop on by and check out their great work at the circulation desk today!

We have an extra summer reading challenge! Anyone who reads 4 books from our new Spanish Language collection will earn a treat as well as a bonus entry in the end of summer prize drawing (and your reading time still counts for your regular reading log to!)

We are having a coloring contest at the library this week to celebrate Smokey the Bear's birthday! Stop on by and vote for your favorites in the Under 5 and 6 to 11 categories today.

Beginning Monday morning, there will be construction at the Benson Public Library to repair our damaged wall. Because of this, some of our fiction collection is going to be temporarily unavailable. The library will remain open all normal hours, but be advised it may be louder than usual from time to time. We will continue to do our best to get you any materials you request as soon as possible.

Story Hour will be tomorrow (Tuesday 6/18) this week because of the library being closed for the holiday on Wednesday. We can't wait to see everyone tomorrow, it's going to be a fun day!

New books and movies for all ages at the library today! Come by and check one out

We are excited to announce the launch of Benson Public Library's teen Book Club! 12–17-year-olds that use the Benson or Kerkhoven Public Library are eligible to sign up, and the first 8 will receive a special prize as a reading incentive. Starting next Tuesday, June 18th, the Book club will meet once a month to discuss a YA Novel. There will be crafts to go with each book club meeting, snacks, and end of summer prizes. Sign up is open now, and we can't wait to see you at the library!

We are 1 day early, but June's Take and Make kids craft is available now for pick up at the library! We have a limited supply of these, and they will be available in our library on a first come first serve basis. Unfortunately, this means we cannot reserve kits. So Come on down today and get one while they are still here!

We are pleased to announce that the Benson Public Library now has an expanded Spanish Language children's collection. This larger sized collection has been made possible with a Grant from Prairielands Library Exchange to whom we are incredibly grateful!
