Hey folks, just a quick note to let you know that the Nursery will be reopening for the 2024 growing season starting on Saturday, Feb 10 at 11am. From then on we will be open every Fri, Sat, & Sun from 11am to 5pm (Fridays extending to 6pm once the days grow long enough). We look forward to seeing you all again.

Back at the farm on Sundays yall!! Come through from 1-5 and grow some food together!! The soil is moist and rich and we gotta feed us!! People produced food is the best food!! Oh yeah, that’s Pharaoh with the new straw bales…. Bless his holy heart! Let’s grow!!! 🌿💚

Aw! Little baby rue!! They’re old enough for adoption 🌿💚

Rue is most often used in Ethiopian cuisine. The herb is used in small quantities (most often single leaves) in salads, meat and egg dishes and mixed with soft, spreadable cheeses. Rue is most commonly used to flavor coffee in Ethiopia; sprigs of Rue are steeped in coffee and give it a hint of citrus flavor. When used in cooking, the herb should be removed before serving a dish. Steeping the herb for a few minutes in a broth or sauce will impart less of Rue’s bitter taste and more of its citrusy flavor. Rue should not be ingested by people who are pregnant.
