So proud to see this book just published--Skinny Woman in a Straw Hat is a collection of memoir pieces by Hao C Tran about his and his family's experience in Vietnam, before, during and after the war, and his migration to Australia and the US. Hao honed his creative writing skills at Berkeley City College in many of my classes; we published his poetry and a story in Milvia Street. He got this book ready for a publisher in Eng 99. Order yourself a copy or request your local library get one.

Message from the editor: As a sexual assault survivor who has done a lot of work on my own sensual and sexual healing, I have always wanted to put together the book that I needed when I was younger: a collection of stories from survivors about positive sexual moments after abuse, about triumphs and “firsts” and hope. This is that book.
