A recent study (in Journal of Glaucoma) found that โ€œ365 breathingโ€ a stress management breathing technique, can reduce IOP, serum cortisol and improve autonomic dysfunction in glaucoma patients.

There were 80 patients in this randomized controlled study. Half used the 365, technique: 3 times a day, breathing rate: 6 cycles/min for 5 minutes. There was an 11% reduction in IOP in the treatment group. More research is needed, but this is really interesting and can possibly benefit glaucoma patients!

When eyelash extensions are applied, false lashes can interfere with the normal eyelash shedding and the growth cycle.

I know what youโ€™re thinking... MORE recalls?! Iโ€™m thinking the same thing at this point. There have been several eye drop/ointment recalls over the past year. The most important thing is that if you think your eye medication is affected, talk to your doctor. Do NOT just stop taking prescribed medications without discussing it first. I provide all of my patient with a safe list of artificial tear drop brands. The bottom line for artificial tears at this point is avoid store brands and stick with well known brands. Ask your doctor what they recommend. Stay safe.
