We received info. From a Broome resident who received a phone call from a person offering to discount the resident's Spectrum bill. They said they knew she was a senior and wanted to offer her a discount. They asked her for her privacy or security code, this is the code Spectrum asks for when you call to discuss a bill.
The resident hung up and called Spectrum directly from the number listed on her bill. Spectrum confirmed it is a scam they are aware of. Spectrum said if anyone gives out their privacy or security code over the phone they could gain access to the person's payment methods-bank or checking accounts. Spectrum also advised her not to use any number listed as Spectrum on a Google search. Instead they encourage her and anyone else to go directly to the Spectrum website or use a number listed on a physically mailed Spectrum bill. Spectrum also stated they don't call. Calls claiming to be Spectrum should be regarded as spam unless you call into their line directly.

Wow! 64 older adults created absolutely amazing pictures during the OFA 50th Anniversary event with The Memory Maker Project . The project centered around conversation and memory inducing items from the 70s. Participants chose to create art based on the items or their memories of 1974. Thank you to Christina Muscatello, BC Arts Council and Atomic Tom's for showcasing all this wonderful art!
