Proverbs 31:28-29

28 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 29 “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”

A word from Pastor Leonard:

Good morning Word Church Family, I pray that you guys are being blessed and encouraged during this uncertain time in our history.

On this Sunday, we will be at the church at 12:00 noon to deliver gift cards and masks to our seniors. We will have extra masks to give out to those members who need them. I have order gloves but they are back ordered. The gift cards, gloves, and masks were given through a grant Project Noah received from the United Way. We will also be taking up tithe and offerings.

Lastly, we had some requests for first Sunday communion. We will do so on this today. If you are able to get out and if you desire to partake in communion, we will do so via "drive through fellowship".

It is my sincere prayer that God continue to cover you and your families with his wings of protection and peace. I pray that He will provide for your every need. I love and miss you guys, stay safe and be blessed.

On a dark cold day, Jesus died on Calvary on a cross - nailed by his hands and feet. Buried in the tomb, never to rise. But little did they know he would rise again. Jesus lives.

Low, low in the grave He lay
Jesus my Savior
Waiting the coming day
Jesus my Lord

Oh, and vainly, vainly they watched His bed
The bed of my Jesus
And vainly, vainly they sealed the dead
Jesus my Lord

Death cannot keep its prey
Jesus my Savior
He tore the bars away
Jesus my Lord

Up from the grave
Yes, He arose
Hey hey hey hey hey
My Jesus lives

He arose, yes He arose, yes He arose (up from the grave He, up from the grave He arose)
He lives forever (up from the grave He, up from the grave He arose)

Up from the grave He, He arose (He arose)
With a mighty triumph o'er His foes (He arose)
He arose a victor from the dark domain
And He lives forever with His saints to reign
He arose (He arose)
He arose (He arose)
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Christ arose!

He arose (He arose)
He arose (He arose)
Hallelujah
He arose!

HOLY SATURDAY

On Holy Saturday, since it was the day before the Sabbath, Jesus’ body was placed in a nearby tomb. The chief priests and the Pharisees went to Pilate requesting an order for the tomb to be made secure with a guard until the third day. They went and made the tomb secure by placing a large stone in front of the entrance and posting a guard outside.

Good Friday is a day that changed not just history, but all of eternity. Because of Jesus’ sacrifice, you have the free gift of salvation. Jesus ultimate act of grace is truly good.

From The Desk of Pastor Leonard:

Word Family, as we reflect on Resurrection Sunday, let us be reminded of the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ. He hung, bleed, and died for our sinful nature. This suggests that all of our wrongness has been forgiven and forgotten. Jesus was arisen for our Salvation. This suggests that because of our Lord Jesus’ resurrection and ascension, we have the right to the tree of life. Our rightness has been restored and our spirit has been revived. We realize that we are unworthy and deserve spiritual death, but "For God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever shall believe in Him shall have eternal life". We are in a pandemic event but we are protected and loved by God. I find comfort and confirmation in this scripture:

"For Jehovah God is a sun and a shield: Jehovah will give grace and glory; No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly". Continue to pray for one another and love on each other. I will leave you with this prayer 🙏

"Heavenly Father I believe that You
are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment
receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.
Amen.

MAUNDY THURSDAY

On Maundy Thursday, Jesus celebrated the Passover, which is also known as the Last Supper, with his disciples. After they finished supper, Jesus went to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray and instructed the disciples to also pray that they do not fall into temptation.

This is where Judas finds Jesus and betrays Him by bringing the chief priest, temple leaders and elders. Jesus was arrested and tortured while Peter denied Him three times just as Jesus said He would.

SPY WEDNESDAY

On Spy Wednesday, Jesus continued his teaching. He spoke of the destruction of the temple and of the end times. He shared more parables and spoke of the withered fig tree. This continued to greatly upset the Jewish leaders.

Their anger continued to grow once they heard of the woman who honored Jesus by anointing him with really expensive oil. This also angered Judas and he went straight to the religious authorities and offered to deliver Jesus into their hands.
