This week's case by Dr. Blake Nelson: 62 y/o postmenopausal F with bleeding. ThinPrep pap smear shows enlarged atypical cells, arranged in 3-dimensional clusters, with hyper-chromatic nuclei and clumpy chromatin, consistent with adenocarcinoma.

The ZTTK SON-Shine Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded by Erin Eun-Young Ahn, Ph.D., a professor in the Division of Molecular and Cellular Pathology, together with parents of patients with ZTTK syndrome, has been selected by the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) to receive an $800,000 five-year grant as part of CZI’s project. This week's case by Dr. Alyssa Lee: 54 y/o male w/ a cystic pancreatic head lesion w/ peripheral calcifications. Smears and cell block show intra and interlobular fibrosis w/ preserved lobular architecture and some lipofuscin, all in keeping with chronic pancreatitis.

This week's case by Dr. Sabesan Balasinkam: 59 y/o w/ lung nodule. Touch Prep of the lung biopsy showed necrotic debris and scattered fungal forms w/ broad based budding, morphologically compatible w/ Blastomyces species. Biopsy showed similar findings confirmed by GMS.
