Bed frames, task chairs, and tables of all sizes are lined up and waiting to be assembled and installed in the new Student Housing Phase 3 at Florida Polytechnic University. Our Capstone Interiors team is on-site managing the furniture install process for this new residence hall which will be open to students in just a few weeks.

As part of our Culture and Wellness Committee’s goal to “Build a Better Bridge” in 2024, our Birmingham and Denver offices held our first ever Office Olympics event coupled with a Potluck of Nations lunch – all coinciding with the opening ceremony for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

July is Disability Pride Month, and July 26th commemorates National Disability Independence Day. One of Capstone's missions is to create safe and inclusive spaces that improve the quality of life for all residents and faculty. Our Capstone Interiors team specifically takes pride in selecting furniture and designs that meet and exceed accessibility codes and supports individuals of all abilities.

Employees from our Denver office joined together this past weekend to run in the Rockies 5K!

The Colorado Rockies Baseball Club Foundation is the charitable arm of the organization tasked with the mission to support underprivileged and at-risk youth through programs for youth baseball and softball, education, literacy, drug and alcohol-abuse awareness and prevention.

We are happy to support their foundation through this 5K opportunity! Thanks to everyone who participated!

One in five people will experience a mental health condition in any given year.

In recognition of Mental Health Month, we are partnering with Addiction Prevention Coalition of Birmingham and Alabama Su***de Prevention & Resources Coalition to host a company-wide, virtual QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) training. We look forward to collaborating with these organizations to bring awareness and education to su***de and mental health crisis.

We love to get together and enjoy a Birmingham Barons game each year with our employees and their families! This year we enjoyed blue skies, a slight breeze, and, as always, good baseball!

Play ball! Our Nexus on Holmes project team joined together for a team building event with a night at the ballpark watching the Rocket City Trash Pandas play in Huntsville, AL.

Happy Earth Day! 🌎 🌏 One of Capstone's Core Principals is to "Practice Sustainability" and we apply this to our projects to every extent that we can. In 2023, we were proud to deliver Portland Commons Residence Hall at the University of Southern Maine, one of the largest Passive House buildings at a university in the United States. The McGoldrick Center for Career and Student Success at USM achieved LEED Gold Certification. Our entire team put sustainability at the forefront of every aspect of this project.

April is Celebrate Diversity Month. As a company, Capstone recognizes that our greatest strengths lie in our differences, not our similarities. We are always striving to educate ourselves and celebrate these differences within our offices, our committees, our local communities, and the projects that we build.

The new construction component of the Village at Mines Park at Colorado School of Mines is making great progress! The Milender White Construction team and their subs began installation of the CLT panels this past week. Upon completion, four of the five newly constructed buildings of Mines Park will be comprised of CLT.

As part of our Spring Philanthropy Committee initiative, employees from Birmingham, Denver, and beyond joined together to collect donations for local women's shelters. Together, we were able to donate approximately 125 items each to First Light Shelter in Birmingham, AL, and The Gathering Place in Denver, CO. A special thanks to Marichal Moranda for leading this initiative for us!

Our Capstone Interiors team joined together for their annual spring Interiors Summit where they plan for the year ahead, collaborate and share new ideas for our communities. This group is dedicated to sourcing and selecting the best furnishings and finishes for all of our communities. We can't wait to see what Jane Brakefield, Michele Unitas and Marichal Moranda will be offering to our new communities!

We are excited to welcome Eric Snelling to our Capstone Denver office as our newest Senior Construction and Quality Control Manager. He comes to us with over 30 years of experience in the construction industry and most recently worked as an Operations Executive. Welcome to the team, Eric!

For our Quarter 1 wellness challenge, employees from Capstone laced up their shoes to participate in a steps competition!

It was a close competition, but our winning team had a total of 1,534,399 steps! Congratulations to our Team 2 Winners!

Happy International Women's Day! Today and every day, Capstone is recognizing and appreciating the achievements of women, not only in our offices, but also in our communities and throughout history. We are excited about the 2024 theme, "Inspire Inclusion", and are running a donation drive in all of our offices through the month of March to benefit local women's charities.

Our Birmingham office's second time competing in The Exceptional Foundation's Chili Cook-off was a blast. Our Chilistone team was led by some great chefs and outlaws that are sure to be wanted for more of their great chili. Thank you to our team leaders for participating in this event and representing Capstone.

Our Birmingham and Denver office staff presented their best chili recipes for our 3rd annual chili cook off. It was a close competition in each office, but David Torres and Jonathan Denton were the chili cook off winners, each taking home the coveted wooden spoon award.

We are looking forward to sunny spring days ahead when University of Southern Maine students can enjoy the weather on the Bean Green that fronts the newly built McGoldrick Center for Career & Student Success and Portland Commons Residence Hall.

Our Florida Polytechnic University Phase 3 project is going up! With freezing temps across the country this week, it's hard to imagine that summer will be here soon and so will the opening of this new on-campus student housing community!

We would like to welcome our newest Construction Manager, Dan O'Brien, to the Capstone family! Dan joined our Denver office team in Fall 2023 and has already made great contributions to our company!

In addition to obtaining a Construction Management degree from Illinois State University, Dan comes to us with 7 years of commercial and residential general contracting experience and 2 years of real estate development and owners representative experience.

When he is not working on Capstone projects, Dan enjoys the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, and barbecuing at his house. He also loves spending time with his wife and son, often traveling and enjoying the mountains of Colorado.

Nexus on Holmes in Huntsville, AL, one of our campus edge projects, is coming along nicely! Here are a few updated photos of the construction site, including a view of the project in the snow that Alabama received earlier this week!

Yesterday, in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, some of the employees from Capstone's Birmingham office visited the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, and employees from Capstone's Denver office watched an educational film together.

Capstone Development Partners’ Birmingham and Denver offices will be closed in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday January 15th, 2024. In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. and his legacy, Capstone employees are proudly partaking in a half day of service within their respective locations.

Our entire team gathered together in Denver last week for our annual team building, corporate huddle, and holiday party. We learned to cook a few new recipes, laughed, had fun and planned for 2024.
