Richard Pitino, the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers men’s basketball head coach, spoke to the Bloomington Noon Rotary Club Oct. 7. The club features guest speakers during most Monday luncheons and welcomed the 17th head coach of the Gopher men’s basketball team as its guest last week. Pitino led the Gophers to a 25-13 record during the 2018-19 season, setting a new school record for single-season victories.

Municipal Cable Coordinator Tim Sasse to Retire
Tim Sasse, City of Bloomington Municipal Cable TV Coordinator, will retire June 28.
For the last 36 years, Tim has been responsible for all aspects of production, programming and playback for Bloomington, including recording hundreds of public meetings, candidate forums, special events, community meetings and presentations. He also produced and edited the award-winning weekly city news program “Bloomington Today.” Last week, Tim was named to the Minnesota Association of Community Telecommunications Administrators (MACTA) Hall of Fame for his many years of service.
