It's a great night for a concert! Join us TONIGHT for our summer 2024 finale as we perform at the Normandale Lake Bandshell. We're excited to welcome guest conductor Dr. Russel Mikkelson (Ohio State University). And our featured soloist is Tim Kraft on alto sax. We're so pleased to announce that local actor Dean Holt will be the storyteller for Medalist Concert Band's performance of Wild Symphony. Holt is a movement-based theatre artist and storyteller and has appeared and collaborated on more than 120 productions with an amazing array of talented artists, both onstage and off, during his 30-year career. Highlights include exploring the silent-movie world of Buster Keaton in REELING, and tearing up the stage as the mouse in IF YOU GIVE A MOUSE A COOKIE and the bear in CORDUROY. Dean is a member of Children's Theatre Company's Core Acting Company and is the recipient of two Ivey Awards as well as the Alumni Achievement Award from St. John’s University for work in his field.
You'll have two opportunities to experience Wild Symphony:
🕖 Monday, May 13, at 7 PM | Wild Symphony Children's Concert (FREE) | Christ the King Lutheran Church (8600 Fremont Ave S, Bloomington). Come early for our musical instrument "petting zoo," where children can touch, learn about, and hear the musical instruments — an amazing opportunity!
