Japan-America Society of Indiana invites you to participate in a fun, family-friendly class. Participants will learn to make Onigiri, Japanese rice balls! The special Onigiri Making Class is presented in partnership with TABLE FOR TWO USA, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan, and JETRO.
Participants will receive a special Onigiri Action Kit in the mail with all the necessary authentic Japanese ingredients, including Japanese rice, tuna, Kewpie mayonnaise, special seasoning packets, Onigiri tools, and more!

After a short presentation about Onigiri, participants will cook together with the Japanese ingredients lead by our Ouchigohan instructor, Debra Samuels from TABLE FOR TWO. You will also learn about "Onigiri Action", a unique campaign to make a difference in the world through Onigiri. It promises to be a fun program for all ages (younger participant will need the help of their parents or an adult to keep the pace of the class). In the kit, there is enough rice to make four onigiri rice balls so siblings and parents can participate.

This class has limited space and will include participants from other Japan-America Societies around the country, which will be especially fun! Registration is first come, first served with a limit of one (1) Onigiri Action kit per household.
JASI Members can use the special promo code "Indiana" to receive a member discount at checkout. Registration deadline is October 25th.

Japan-America Society of Indiana will hold an online Japanese Cooking Program hosted by Table for Two/Japan America Society of Colorado this Sunday (6:30 pm EST). This time the program features Sanshoku Gohan, a meal in a bowl. It also makes a perfect bento box lunch! Three different color toppings: seasoned meat (or tofu), scrambled egg, and a green veggie are set on top of hot rice (gohan) for a blend of classic Japanese flavors. This is very easy to make and the slightly sweetened meat makes it a favorite with kids.

All registrants will receive a list of ingredients and a copy of the recipe, along with the link to participate, as we get closer to the event.

JASI members are invited to enter the special discount code at checkout for $5 off! JASI’s discount code is “Indiana”.
