Spreading heart health knowledge, Dr. Mary Ann Leavitt, College of Nursing assistant professor, gave an enlightening presentation on cardiovascular disease at Abbey of Delray South today. Thank you, Dr. Leavitt, for educating our local communities about the prevention and treatment of heart disease.
We are excited to welcome Dr. Patricia Liehr as Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing’s interim Dean starting today. In 2004, Dr. Liehr joined the college as a professor and the first associate dean for nursing research and scholarship. She was awarded emerita professor status upon retiring in 2020. Students, faculty and staff look forward to continuing our journey of academic excellence under your leadership!

FAU's College of Nursing faculty and staff visited four Memorial Healthcare System hospitals this week for the Second Annual 2024 Employee Fair providing information on training opportunities, certificates and advanced degrees. Assistant Professor Dr. Ashley Rivera, Outreach Specialist Juliet Soler and FAU’s College of Business met with RNs interested in continuing education and degrees in health administration.
The Anne Boykin Institute 2024 Summer Academy, hosted at College of Nursing, kicked off today with greetings from Dean Safiya George. The annual event’s theme is Earth Caring - Tending our Common Home. Participants examined relationships among health, justice and environment grounded in caring and met the Academy’s artist-in-residence, Kathy Sherman, who shared her music as it relates to this year’s theme.
FAU College of Nursing's Drs. Ruth Tappen, Jo Ann Bamdas, and Kelley Jackson discussed how brain health impacts memory and wellness in a presentation at the South Healthcare Advocacy Network event today. Hosted by the Louis and Anne Green Memory and Wellness Center and Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce the gathering included health care professionals and local entrepreneurs from Palm Beach and Broward counties.

Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing's faculty and students participated in the Men’s Empowerment and Health Fair at Pahokee Elementary School this past weekend, providing healthcare access for rural and vulnerable communities. The CARE Nurse-led Mobile Health Unit that was used, offered free blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar screenings, as well as essential health information to the residents.
