Great news! The Department of Anthropology at Florida Atlantic University has been awarded an impressive $650,000 grant from the National Science Foundation! 🌍✨ This grant supports vital research into the resilience of communities in South Florida and Puerto Rico facing environmental challenges like hurricanes.
The project, titled “Rhizomatic Nexus: Cultural Dimensions of Ecological Instability,” is led by Dr. Adriana Garriga-Lopez, associate professor of anthropology and comparative studies, and Dr. Katharina Rynkiewich, assistant professor of anthropology, in collaboration with researchers from the University of Puerto Rico.

The Arthur and Emalie Gutterman Family Center for Holocaust and Human Rights Education at FAU recently announced the Gutterman Family Outstanding Holocaust Educator Awards for 2024.
