THIN THE THREAT for Idaho
Harvesting and thinning forests can help reduce the threat of catastrophic wildfire in Idaho. Learn more at IdahoForests.org.

How does “Thin The Threat” translate into action? Thinning a forest means removing dead, dying or overcrowded trees and leaving behind a healthier and productive forest that can withstand a fire. The left photo is a forest that is dense and overcrowded. On the right is a forest that has been thinned -- actively managed. Which one will turn into a catastrophic fire if sparked? We’ll let you be the judge. If you support thinning national forests from the threat of wildfire, get your free bumper sticker at IdahoForests.org.

Sustainable Forestry Tour Recap – Thursday, 6/27 Highlights

We continued learning the story of Idaho forests by exploring the wood products industry. We had amazing mill tours at Idaho Forest Group and Clearwater Paper Corporation, gained insight into the trucking industry, toured the University of Idaho’s ICCU Arena, and wrapped up the day at a family-owned forest. It was a wonderful (near) end to our week together!

We can’t say enough thank-yous to all our sponsors and presenters!
