Meet our trainer : Marc
Marc joined Ascent, (formerly FitMania) in 2014. He immediately liked the feel of the workouts and the comradery with fellow members. He started training 5 years ago because he loves to help others and helping clients reach their fitness goals and get healthy is a great feeling!
Getting stronger and healthier doesn’t have to be difficult but going to a gym can be overwhelming. Marc loves being part of a team that helps our clients achieve their fitness and nutrition goals in a straightforward and very effective 45-minute workout. Marc loves to research and learn about fitness and nutrition related topics and studies and sharing that information with his clients. Marc welcomes you to try a 4:30pm class with him!
Buddies Month is Here!
August is another month for buddies! Any member can bring a buddy to any trainer led class for FREE. This can be the same buddy every day, or a different buddy.
Buddy Month will run through Saturday, September 3rd.

This year, for the 4th of July workout, we have decided to try something new!
You'll find the details below:
- There will not be an AT THE GYM workout next Monday, BUT, don't worry, we aren't canceling the workout completely. Instead, we will be putting out a workout for everyone to do at home/where they are vacationing with their friends/family💪❤️.
- The first 30 people who do the workout on July 4th, and provide proof that they did said workout, will get a FREE 4th of July shirt (pictured here!). Those who do the workout can provide proof they did the workout by posting a picture/video to social media and tagging Ascent!
- Shirts will be available for pick up Wed, July 6th. Those participating from afar can get a shirt if you have an address we can ship to.
- You will find the workout that you are to do attached to this post, Have fun!

5 Ways to Make Your Pushups More Productive
1. Brace your core. To avoid rounding your spine and doing “banana back” pushups, try squeezing or “bracing” your core.
2. Squeeze your glutes.
3. Pack your elbows.
4. Grip the floor.
5. Push the ground away from you.

Meet Our Trainer - Kristen
Kristen joined Ascent (formerly FitMania) in 2016 and immediately loved the program and the community, and began training in 2019. She has always enjoyed being active and exercising and hopes that this can be a good example to her kids. Kristen also loves to cook and appreciates learning of and swapping new recipes. She loves spending time with her family, meeting new people, and a good dad joke.
Lydia knows it can be difficult to maintain a healthy body image while in the fitness world and puts an emphasis on positive mentality as we work to improve ourselves. Lydia is passionate about form, safety, growth, and having a fun community to help you reach your goals. If you like dancing to 90s music come visit one of Lydia’s classes!
