Russian Kettlebell Swing
The Russian Swing with Jeff Martone CrossFit -- (http://www.crossfit.com)Kettlebell expert, Jeff Martone, instructs on the Russian swing.
The colors of the Level Method were inspired by the BJJ belt system (as BJJ is the best 'pure' martial art in the universe).
White, Yellow, Orange, Blue, Purple, Brown, Black, Red
For you sticklers, the yellow and orange colors were pulled from the youth belts so we could have a clean, multi step progression.
We use these colors to quantify and track fitness progress over time.
It is a multilayered approach that helps everyday individuals set achievable goals and chart their health & fitness journey over time.
Sometimes people ask, "BJJ is skill based, but your levels are performance based, what does that mean?"
It simply means that we measure fitness objectively... and as you age, your fitness will inevitably drop, the same way as bodyfat and lean mass levels get worse as we age.
Depending on your starting point and training age, you may keep progressing as you age... and you may never slow down.
But most people will peak, and then slowly come down.
This is just a fact of life... but by measuring these things, we can set goals to delay it as long as possible.
NOT measuring, doesn't mean it's not happening... it just means we're not aware of it.
Deadlift
Why Deadlift? “Regardless of whether your fitness goals are to ‘rev up’ your metabolism, increase strength or lean body mass, decrease body fat, rehabilitate your back, im...
