Last night, we had another great opportunity to connect and talk with many legislators about CRNAs in Idaho at the annual Ada County Lincoln Day Association banquet. We were able to meet and visit with former Governor Dirk Kempthorne, who was responsible for the signing which made Idaho the third opt-out state from Medicare in March of 2002. It was a great honor to thank him and hear that story. Thank you Caroline Merritt, Jennifer Wolff, and Gus Powell for attending this event on behalf of Idaho CRNAs!

On Monday, IDANA had a great day advocating for CRNAs at the Capitol. We connected with multiple legislators and observed Health and Welfare Committee meetings from both the House and the Senate. Thank you to our wonderful lobbyist, Caroline Merritt, for organizing the event. Also, we had the pleasure of having Ashley Gardiner join us for the day. Ashley is in her final year of her doctoral CRNA program at Gonzaga Univeristy. We look forward to having Ashley join our profession in Boise upon graduation.

Happy !

Since 2000, National CRNA Week has been the annual celebration of our nation’s Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists and nurse anesthesia students.

The highly respected profession of nurse anesthesiology traces its origins to the 1860s, when nurses eased the suffering of wounded soldiers in the Civil War. Today, there are nearly 66,000 CRNAs and nurse anesthesia students nationwide.

Celebrate both the rich past and promising future of the original anesthesia experts Jan. 22-28.

Good morning! Quick reminder for members to check your email from the AANA that has a link to vote for bylaw amendments from Saturday’s business meeting. Voting remains open until 1:00pm on Tuesday (tomorrow).
