➕ Neurological conditions
➕ Cancer pains
➕ Incontinence
If you're interested in getting back to living pain free or curious whether PT might help you, reach out today to talk it through with one of our experts: 1-800-346-9153.
One service we offer is gait training and analysis. 🚶♀️
In case you're unfamiliar with it, here's a little insider info:
Like its name suggests, gait training is the process of learning how to walk again. This can be necessary due to a neurological condition or following a leg or foot injury.
Before the training, a gait analysis will take place to assess where the patient is at and create a plan that'll help them get steadier on their feet again.
You can learn all about the different services we offer right in our clinics, here: https://www.bostonsportsmed.com/services/.
In addition to active exercises, physical therapy may incorporate passive exercises where the therapist moves the patient's body parts to improve mobility, especially in stiff or locked joints. These guided movements also help prepare the patient for active exercises, particularly if they're unable to move their limbs independently.
Apart from exercises, other physical therapy treatments utilize various physical stimuli, including:
💪 Manual lymphatic drainage: A massage technique to reduce fluid buildup in tissues.
💪 Electrotherapy: Treatment involving a mild electric current.
💪 Heat therapy: Utilizing warm baths, fango mud packs, heat lamps, or ultrasound.
💪 Cold therapy: Applying cold packs or cold air to alleviate discomfort.
If you're interested in exploring different types of physical therapy options, reach out for a consultation today: https://www.bostonsportsmed.com/request-appointment/.

For many, pelvic issues or pain can be a source of embarrassment. But our specialists wants to change that misconception and help our patients heal.
"As a Pelvic Health Physical Therapist, I work with my patients to gather information about their past medical history, along with an assessment of their lower back, pelvis, core, hip, and pelvic floor muscles. This helps us develop a plan of action to meet the patient’s goals and get back to living their lives without worry. In society, we often shy away from discussing these diagnoses and limitations, so I'm here to help normalize these conversations, and get you back to your life!"

Today is National Fitness Day, which ties into one of our favorite pastimes: being active! 🤸♀️🏃♀️🚴♂️
If you're recovering from a past injury or illness, physical therapy can be the catalyst that gets you back out there again, up to the level of fitness that feels most comfortable for you.
Physical therapy focuses on the treatment and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses, with the goal of restoring movement, function, and quality of life.
Training sessions can pick up where physical therapy, which is often more short term, leaves off. Post-rehab strength and conditioning helps to continue the progress made in PT by building strength, endurance, and agility beyond the level required for everyday activities. It helps to improve overall physical fitness, reduce the risk of re-injury, and enhance performance in sports or other physical activities.
Reach out today if you're interested in our PT training and services. We're ready to help you get back to the top of your game: https://www.bostonsportsmed.com/request-appointment/.

As the flowers bloom and the weather warms up, it's the perfect time to prioritize your well-being. 🌼 💪
Here's why you might want to start or continue your physical therapy journey now that spring has fully sprung:
🤸♀️ With the longer days and brighter sunshine, springtime can bring a natural boost in energy levels, making it easier to stay motivated and committed to your therapy sessions.
☀️ Take advantage of the pleasant weather by incorporating outdoor exercises into your therapy routine. From walking in the park to cycling on scenic trails, spring offers countless opportunities to move your body and enhance your recovery.
💪 Engaging in regular physical therapy exercises can help strengthen muscles, improve flexibility, and correct imbalances, reducing the risk of injuries as you become more active in outdoor sports and activities.
🧘 Spending time outdoors and being physically active can have a positive impact on your mood and mental health. Physical therapy provides not only physical benefits but also promotes relaxation and stress relief, contributing to overall well-being.
Whether you're getting ready for hiking, swimming, or playing sports, springtime physical therapy sessions can help you prepare and fully enjoy your favorite summer activities. 🌞
At Boston Sports Medicine, the patients speak for themselves when it comes to showing how efficient and positive our services are!
Here's a recent testimonial from someone who worked through chronic back pain:
"I wanted to thank you for the work you did with me, your thoughtful approach and your willingness to share the theory behind the treatment plan. I have been seeking help in various places for this chronic back pain for over 10 years. You guys were finally able to offer some relief when I was about ready to accept it as a part of life. I deadlifted/took part in activities today that in the past would not have been possible a few months ago, and often am surprised when I don't feel the familiar twinge of pain in my daily life."
Wow! Talk about a success story! We're proud to share the dedication of our staff and the environments they have cultivated to help patients heal 💫

Getting positive reviews from patients makes our day! 🥰 Here's a recent one from Cheryl W.:
"From the first day I walked into Boston Sports Medicine I was greeted with warmth, kindness and respect. Having rotator cuff tendonitis, I was in terrible pain and limited to any and all activities. I met with Katie PT, and from the first day to the 12 weeks of physical therapy I was treated with empathy, kindness, and direct attention to heal me and get me back on my feet. Katie and the staffing deserve a special thank you, as I have never seen a professional team in healthcare services work together with smiling faces and determination to assist the patients during this traumatic, painful time of need. I am now back to work feeling no pain and a big sigh of relief thanks to Katie and the team in Wilmington. I strongly suggest anyone who needs physical therapy and wants the best care to look into Boston Sports Medicine in Wilmington and ask for Katie."
So glad you had such a positive experience, Cheryl!
