Tools to get through Season Affect Disorder
How to take care of your mental health during the holiday season For many, the holidays are a time of fun and hope. But for others, the holiday season is a low point. Being in a region where the sun sets by 5 p.m. until late January doesn't help.
I bet you know someone who is always on a diet. They talk about food a lot. Some would even say "obsess" abut food, calories, macros, points, whatever.
They complain about their body. Their weight go up and down, then up and down again and again. Maybe it's noom, or intermittent fasting, or counting macros or calories in their fit bit. Perhaps they are even on some of these new weight loss injectibles.
I truly believe that most everyone (aside from a serious eating disorder) is just trying to lose weight to feel better, to get "healthy" to live their best life. I don't say all of this to be hard on these people. I get it. I really do having been addicted to dieting myself. It's "normal" to diet and it's "normal" to be caught in this cycle of self-improvement.
The problem is that, it's just not sustainable long term. Dieting - whatever it is you are doing to shrink down your body, backfires for 98% of people long term. Of course the 80 billion dollar diet industry wants to make you believe that it's your fault. You just need more willpower, more control. I call Bull sh*t.
Think about the cycle you're in with food and your body. Is it working? Is it making you feel free and liberated or is it making you feel small and disempowered?
Are you tired of the constant worry and mistrust of your body? Are you afraid if you stop dieting, you will gain a lot of weight back?
Dieting will keep you spinning in obsession and only reinforce the belief that something is wrong with you, and your body.
F that!
If you resonate with any of this, join me and my partner Karen Louise Scheuner in our 12 week online group program: Intuitive Eating Embodied.
We have 3 spots left and one with your name on it, IF you are sick and tired of effing dieting and really want to find lasting peace and freedom. It's yours to reclaim.

Our Story
Instead of Depression, I chose Wellness. I am Linda “Wellness Warrior” Wells. I am a seeker of Wellness through Yoga, Food, and Fun. I am a Coach, Speaker, Yoga Teacher, Resilience Trainer, and the Wellness Warrior. I provide yoga instruction, stress education, and relaxation solutions. Her methods incorporate a mind, body, and spirit approach to igniting and maintaining your own inner warrior. This lap of my wellness journey began in 2011 when I left my job of 4.5 years after burning out. I was a Program Director serving in a youth and community agency. We were deep in the recession, youth programs were closing in the midst of a spike in youth violence and murders in the City of Boston. I observed my youth, colleagues, and myself on life support. No one was being empowered or encouraged to take care of their own well-being. As a community, we were in survival mode and suffering from health inequities i.e. depression, obesity, and post-traumatic stress. It was as if one day, I woke, realizing I was over 220 lbs, lonely, burnt-out, and miserable. I started exercising. I also started experimenting with various meal plans and replacing habits that were no longer serving me with healthier choices. I have since lost nearly 40lbs and have helped my clients collectively lose [release] over 200 lbs. We are healthier and happier; getting closer to achieving optimal health and well-being thanks to our new healthy active lifestyles, not a diet.
