Eephus, Carson Lund ‘13 directorial film debut, made it's premier at this year's Director's Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival. Shot outside of Boston, the film features the talents of several Emerson alum both in front of and behind the camera and was very well received at the festival. 👏🦁

Jeffrey Greenhawt ’68, LHD ’23, a media executive and longtime Emerson College Trustee who, during his 12 years as Chair of the Board, oversaw one of the most dynamic periods in the College’s history, died August 6, 2024, in South Florida. He was 78.

Edlin Ortiz '21 is a Mexican-American writer from Santa Ana, CA. She received her MFA in Writing for Film and TV in 2021. Since then, she has written a children’s book for Disney Publishing based on Pixar's Coco and worked for Spotify’s true-crime podcasts. Also, she staff writer on Disney's first Latinx animated show, Primos, now streaming on Disney+! Congrats on all of your success so far Edlin!
By day, Alexa Lash, MA ’11, leads the creative department of an international company that names new products. By night, she strums the guitar, and sings her award-winning lyrics.

Earlier this week at Emerson Los Angeles we had a group of alumni come together to discuss their paths into the entertainment industry, their experience working on these hit shows, and some industry tips. The panel included Terry Matalas '98, Judalina Neira '04, and Katherine Shimizu '08. The rest of the panel included Jongnic Bontemps, Roanne Tan, Gui Agustini, Marion Spates and Kevin Winston.
