Our friends, Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe, is hosting their 103rd annual Mashpee Wampanoag Powwow on July 5th, 6th and 7th at 483 Great Neck Road S. Mashpee, MA!
The powwow showcases Wampanoag culture, community, and tradition through drumming, singing, competition, and food and craft vendors. The annual Princess Crowning, Fireball Ceremony, and clambake will also take place throughout the three-day event. Come experience the vibrant sights and sounds of our Indigenous community as we come together to honor our heritage. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to immerse yourself in Indigenous culture. All are invited to attend and enjoy the powwow.

Overdose deaths in Mass. dropped 10%, but fatalities rose for Black men It’s the largest single-year decrease in overdose deaths here in 20 years, state officials said. Preliminary data suggests the trend is keeping up this year. But the gains are uneven. Deaths among white men were down 16%, but deaths rose 6% among Black men.

MOAR offers two important trainings aimed at helping individual use their voices for productive change!
1. Recovery Messaging: This training helps individuals understand the impact of stigma and language on recovery. We can assist you in identifying key elements of recovery messages. Ultimately, attendees will be able to craft and deliver their own positive recovery messages.
2. Advocacy 101: This training helps individuals understand how public policies and laws are developed and changed. Additionally, the training covers the state budget process. Finally, we will demonstrate strategies and best practices for effective visits/calls with your legislators.
These trainings are put on by our awesome team of regional coordinators and can run anywhere between 45-90 minutes each.

Camp COASA - August 2024!
Children of Alcoholism & Substance Abuse are hosting their annual camp August 5-9th at Laboure Center in South Boston for children 8-17.
The first ever Dual-Anon meeting in Massachusetts tool place at the Dual Recovery Retreat at Nichols College on June 6! It was an amazing experience to be part of this meeting along with a fantastic DRA retreat. Dual Recovery is Real!
