PSA: Resting in a dark room is no longer the recommended treatment for concussions!
While rest is important after a concussion, too much isolation can contribute to feelings of anxiety and depression, which can also cause issues with the recovery process. Current guidelines suggest a brief period of rest followed by a gradual return to light activity.

Mike Meany lost his son Colin to su***de at age 17 after battling persistent post concussion symptoms that he kept to himself. This weekend marks the 5 year anniversary of his death.

Depression is common after concussion, and just one concussion doubles your su***de risk. Mike and his family want to educate others on those risks to prevent future families from experiencing the same loss and are dedicated to supporting those who are struggling. Since Colin's death, they have raised more than $100k to support the CLF HelpLine in honor of their late son.
