Options CIL

With the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) turning 34 years old and Options CIL celebrating 22 years in Iroquois County, we had a picnic at Lakeview Park in Watseka!

It was a beautiful day and a great turnout. There were also small presentations about Senior Services by the Iroquois County Health Department and legal information discussed by Prairie State Legal Services.

Thank you to those who came out to celebrate and eat pizza and cake!

Good morning, our Watseka Office will be closed today, 7/16/24.

Options had the honor of hosting Kaitlynn Milvert, Attorney on the Civil Rights Team for Equip for Equality, earlier today at Rigo's Place.

Kaitlynn spoke about Guardianships and Alternatives, how they relate to people with disabilities and answered some great questions from the crowd.

We had a great crowd and a great meal provided by Rigo's. This was all possible through a grant from the Statewide Independent Living Council (SILC).

Anyone who needs a safe place to stay cool is encouraged to ride our buses to a safe location or to stay on the buses as long as they need to.

At our game on April 5th, we also had the opportunity to get "framed" and show your support of Options. Here are some of those pics as well.

Much fun was had by all! Thank you everyone for your support.

On April 5th, we hosted our Annual University of Illinois Wheelchair Basketball game at Adventure Commons in Bourbonnais. U of I took on the Kankakee Community College Women's Basketball team, a team from Riverside Healthcare, a team from Ascension St. Mary's Hospital and a team from the Kankakee County Sheriff's Office.

We also had many raffle baskets and split the pot drawing. Just when we thought we were done, the teams from Ascension St. Mary and Riverside Healthcare challenged each other to a Court Street bragging rights 5th quarter. We raised over $300 additional dollars to make that happen.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the event, and we hope to see you, and more of your friends, next year!

Options Center for Independent Living conducts fifth wheelchair basketball fundraiser Options Center for Independent Living conducted its fifth wheelchair basketball event April 5 at Adventure Commons in Bourbonnais.

TODAY IS THE DAY!!! The Illinois Wheelchair Basketball team will be coming back to Adventure Commons to take on the Kankakee Community College Women's Basketball team, and teams of first responders from Riverside Healthcare, Ascension St. Mary's Hospital and the Kankakee County Sheriff's Department!

Many many raffle baskets, concessions and the opportunity to shoot a free throw while seated in a wheelchair to see the different muscles that are needed and how phenomenal the student athletes from U of I are.

Doors open at 5 and the game starts at 6 tonight! $5 to get in and 5 and under are free!

Tomorrow is the day!!!
