WCCD wrapped up at the 2024 Kentucky Association of Conservation Districts - KACD conference bringing back five awards! Among the recognitions were: Cooperator of the Year - Benji Hudnall, Soil Stewardship Award, KACD Conservation Service Award - Penny Warwick, Secondary Teacher of the Year - Thomas Poole, and Most Informative Display.

Penny was also elected KACDE President and Morgan Mairs elected reporter during the KACDE business session! WCCD is well represented.

This week, our summer intern Colby Dye will be starting a new environmental education video series called Backyard Biology! In this video series, he will be covering common wildlife you may find around you with giveaways for each video. Be sure to tune in this Wednesday on the Farm and Home Show or our social media pages to learn all about Insects!

Another opportunity for tree seedlings!

We have our seedling trees in and are prepping them for the Arbor Day Celebration, April 13! We will have American Hornbeam, Chokecherry, Chestnut Oak, and Scotch Pine. WKU Facilities Management will be bringing compost again this year, but you will need your own container. Need more info. contact 270-393-3111.
