About Ian Burch:⁠

When most oenophiles venture abroad to experience the⁠
Old-World French wine culture, they come back with⁠
memories of exquisite meals or a newfound favorite⁠
producer. But Ian? He came back with his life-calling and a⁠
fiery passion for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Armed with⁠
a wine education degree from Cal Poly, Ian's post-college⁠
winemaking gigs abroad ignited a relentless love for cool-⁠
climate winemaking.⁠

Ian’s deep reverence for these noble varieties drew him to Oregon’s Willamette Valley and the renowned Archery Summit. With years of winemaking experience on both sides of the equator under his belt, Ian made a splash in the Oregon wine scene at the prestigious Evening Land Vineyards. ⁠

One of Ian's greatest inspirations is the legendary Burgundian winemaker Dominique Lafon. Whether in the quaint French countryside or the vibrant crush pads of the Dundee Hills, Ian is continually awed by the camaraderie within the global wine community. Fueled by the adventurous spirit of New World winemaking, Ian is steering Archery Summit’s iconic journey while celebrating the distinctiveness and legacy of its Dundee Hills terroir.⁠

Ian joined Archery Summit winery in June 2018, and since his debut harvest, he’s accumulated over 130 scores of 90+ points from top publications. His crowning achievement? Best in Show and stunning 97 points for his 2021 Dundee Hills Pinot Noir at the 2023 Decanter World Wine Awards, where he outshone over 1,800 wines. We can easily say, he is one of the most award-winning winemakers from Oregon.
