Just a note of gratitude for showing up on your yoga mats and your support of Homes for our Troops. We raised a total of $1,400 yesterday! And thank you to those yogis who could not come to class but still donated.

I would like to express a special thank you to Kathy Fernandez who donated a personalized yoga mat for our raffle. Big thanks also to Linda Geller and Sue Emmer who signed everyone in and collected your generous donations and to Amber Perin who always keeps our yoga list current.

Attached are some photos (taken by Kathy Fernandez and my husband, Mel) of our amazing group of yogis yesterday. Although it’s beautiful to practice yoga outside, I know it’s difficult to see and hear when we have such a large group. This vinyasa practice is designed to help you build strength and endurance - mindfully. With the help of repetitions and weights, Yoga Tone invites you to synchronize breath with movement in order to tone the body. This one hit me hard. It’s with much sadness I share our beloved “Jen” passed away Friday November 17th due to complications from Type 1 Diabetes.

Jen and I first met when she interviewed with me for my Yogi position. We instantly clicked, talking about how fitness found us, and how it was what we truly were meant to do in life ❤️.

Jen was a force 🔥. She could be teaching a yoga class one minute, a strength class the next, and completely switching gears to train 1x1 clients. Because of her passion, versatility, and work ethic it was a no-brainer she is who I needed in my assistant manager role.

Although Jen worked for me, our friendship went far beyond the paycheck. There was a true sisterhood of looking out for one another and for-seeing what each other needed to shine at work and in life.

Compassion is definitely the word that comes to mind when I think of Jen. If you were in the room with her, she made sure you felt included and loved. It’s truly unfair that this beautiful soul had to be taken so early from us 💔.

But what she did accomplish in her very short 39 years will live on in the hearts she touched doing what she loved ❤️.

There is a private ceremony scheduled in December for Sarasota friends. Please message me and once I know the details I will pass along the info.
