Today is National Day of Prayer and we would love for all of you to join us in praying for camp! Here’s a few things you can be praying for.
- The staff as they get ready to lead this ministry. Pray for energy, wisdom, and spiritual preparation.
- The campers as they hear the Gospel presented. Pray their lives would be forever changed by it.
- The churches and adult leaders as they take this time to invest in their kids ministry, create relationships, and become role models.
- For all those who come across CentriKid this summer to know the love of Christ and to experience the Gospel.
We are so grateful for everyone who makes this ministry possible. Know that we are in diligent prayer for you here at CK and we can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for this summer.

Here’s a devo for you to check out by CK Worship Leader, Emily Martin!

As everything around us starts to bloom and the weather is stubbornly but steadily warming up, it’s finally starting to feel like Spring. And if you’re in ministry, you’re well aware that these packed spring weeks will quickly roll us into summer, which means, camp week is coming!

Maybe this thought is both exciting and daunting to you. Perhaps it’s all the preparations that need to come together, or maybe it’s feeling your desperate need for God to move in the hearts of the kids you are bringing with you. Either way, one thing is certain, you need God to go before you and with you in all of these things. You need Him to strengthen you, to give you wisdom, and to move in hearts the way that only He can. You cannot do this without Him.

As I’ve been reading through the Bible this year, I’ve been so encouraged by Exodus 33. Still in the wilderness but looking forward to the land God has promised, Moses is daunted by the journey ahead, humbled by his own weakness, and discouraged by the “stiff-necked” people he is leading.

So even in light of all the instructions and promises that the Lord has graciously given to him, Moses pleads with God not to leave his side, to show him His glory, and to keep His presence near him every step of the way.

This is God’s response:

“This very thing that you have spoken, I will do, for you have found favor in my sight, and I know you by name… I will make all my goodness pass before you and Will proclaim before you my name ‘the LORD.’“
Exodus 17-18

No matter what you feel that you are up against inside of yourself or inside of the hearts of the ones you are shepherding, one thing is for certain, in Christ, you are walking in the unfading favor of the LORD your God, who has promised not to leave your side, is always gracious to those who look to Him, and is ready make all His goodness pass before you again and again.

I believe with all my heart that the God who goes before you is going to WOW you this summer with countless evidences of His grace, presence, goodness, and steadfast love. It’s simply who He is 🤍

Check out this devo written by CK Group Leader, Libby Davidson!

As Children’s Ministers and Kid’s Ministry Volunteers, it is so easy to come to camp expecting God to solely work in the lives of the kids that we bring to camp, but not in us. We expect the kids to go to all the camp activities and learn something brand new about The Lord. Which is great! But what about you, Children’s Minister? What about you, Adult Chaperone? It is easy to think “I’m taking kids Centrikid this summer! They are going to learn so much about The Lord!” But what about you? Just because you are chaperoning or the Group Leader for Centrikid does not mean that God has overlooked you.
This verse calls us—all readers—“little children.” You may be an adult in society’s eyes, but you’re a child in God’s. God wants us to have child-like faith where we excitingly learn new things about who God is. My kids that are going to Centrikid this summer have a “countdown to camp.” They are so ecstatic to go to Centrikid so that they can learn all about how much God loves them while doing fun activities. Are you as excited for Centrikid as your kids?
That same verse goes on to say, “remain in him.” How can you remain in him if you aren’t expecting God to work in your life at Centrikid this summer? How can you remain in him if you aren’t expecting God to teach you something new? Another translation of this verse says to “abide in him.” Abide means to endure without yielding, or to wait for. It’s hard to wait for the Lord to teach you something new at camp when you’re not welcoming Him to teach you something new. Expect The Lord to make Himself known in your life this summer at Centrikid. Not only are your 2nd – 6th graders called “God’s Children,” but so are you!
I pray that God reveals Himself to you this summer in a mighty way.

Check out this devo written by CK Camp Pastor, Trent Creason!

During the early years of my life I enjoyed playing sports. I wasn’t very good at any of them but they were fun and I gleaned many lessons. While sports can teach a lot of things one of the greatest lessons of my life came by the example I saw not in the sport but through my dad’s presence at the sports I enjoyed. My father somehow managed to be present at all the practices and all the games. As a 9 or 10 year old boy seeing this consistency made an impact. He wasn’t a dad that was coaching from the sideline or losing his cool he was just present. His consistent presence made a major impact in my life that I often took for granted. We often overlook how our presence matters and the simple but profound impact it will make. Our culture often leads us down a path that can make it difficult to truly be present. There are many children and adults alike that desperately need someone to be present. When I think of the many great things about our God the promise of His presence has always been one that stands out to me. The name Immanuel, meaning God with us, demonstrates a God that cares and can be trusted. His presence in our lives makes all the difference and when our lives are oriented around Him he will lead us to be present for others, to be a safe, consistent and present person. A strength I always valued about camp has been the emphasis on being relationally present for the campers. As a camp pastor it was always clear that the greatest impact I could make was not saying exactly the right thing from the stage but by finding the right place to be present. I encourage us all to take time to be present where God has us and allow His presence to make all difference.
