TNT Performance is a functional fitness gym that specializes in kettlebell training. Although we also make use of body weight and barbell exercises, we've found kettlebells to be the best all-around tool for developing strength (without building mass), improving conditioning, and shredding body fat. And there's no better place to learn to use kettlebells correctly as our staff includes some of the

Wherever you currently find yourself on the spectrum of success in whatever endeavor is important to you (e.g. career, creativity, finances, fitness, relationships), it can be quite helpful to regularly remind yourself of the importance of embracing PUH. And, yes, that's pronounced "poo".
What's PUH?
Good question! ;-) You can find out here:

Like all other animals, humans need to play. We're happier, healthier, more productive, and learn faster when play is prevalent in our lives.
But "play" doesn't always mean just fun and games. It can be exhausting and painful. As Joseph Campbell says, "Sometimes pain is bliss."
How often do you play? Do you see it as a luxury or a necessity? If the you think the latter—or if you think the former but felt like you "haven't had time" to do so lately—remember that play is as much a mindset as an activity. How can you add more of that into your life?

Here's one more bright idea to improve the quality of your sleep. Or is it a dim idea? Well, either way, it'll require fairly minimal effort to implement. And more z's will be your reward! 😴

Did you know your lifetime odds of being struck by lightning are about 1 in 12,000?
And did you also know your odds of being able to function optimally on fewer than the recommended minimum 7 hours of sleep per day is even less than the odds of being struck by lightning at some point in your lifetime?
Yeah, so... sleep is kind of important. Here's a simple strategy to start getting more of it:

Most people working toward fitness or body composition goals are hyper-focused on what to do for exercise and nutrition.
Of course, those are both important components of the process. But neglecting one other specific component can cause progress to stall even when the exercise & nutrition components are in place.
What is that other component? It's sleep.
Yeah, yeah, I know. Sleep isn't as cool or sexy as how much you can bench or that organic salad with gluten-free croutons and free-range chicken that you had for lunch. But working toward optimizing your sleep is a requirement if you want that other stuff to do the job you think it's supposed to do.
And optimizing your sleep doesn't have to be difficult or complicated. Here's the first (simple) step you can practice without too much fuss that will produce far more benefits than you might imagine: https://ckarchive.com/b/p9ueh9h3z8l73
Absent of having absurd superpowers, you absolutely need to train your, um, midsection if you're absorbed with the thought of doing strong push-ups or pull-ups. There's nothing abstruse about the situation; abstain from laziness, and just do these two drills... https://ckarchive.com/b/lmuehmh033zr9
If you want to improve your midsection strength, you need to learn the hollow position.
If you don't want to improve your midsection strength... Why?!? It'll help with almost everything!
In any case, don't do whatever silliness Ryan is doing in this ↓ gif...
Instead, read this week's tip to learn how to train the position well: https://ckarchive.com/b/p9ueh9h3z592k
Not every goal or objective that you set for yourself needs to be *amazing* or game-changing, particularly when you're starting out with something new (fitness or otherwise). In fact, most of them won't be.
What they *will* be are stepping stones to future goals that will likely be more meaningful to you.
So, what's next for you? Have you been wishy-washy about it? Or have you decided...?
You get to decide what's next... Trainer Tips Tuesday Tips about Thinking, Nutrition, & Training for better living. From a trainer. Delivered on Tuesdays. Rea...
Willpower is a fleeting condition.
It doesn't matter if it's needed for nutrition, exercise, work, study, or any other practice. If we don't have a strategy to take action when our willpower is low, we're much more likely to just sit on our bums.
WOOP is the strategy to apply when you don't want to depend on willpower to do what you know needs to get done...

If you've been struggling with consistency in your fitness life, it may be that you're chasing a goal you think you're supposed to want instead of pursuing what's actually important to you.
Attend the second installment of the Big Adventures presentations tomorrow (Saturday, 4/15) at noon to gain insight into the process of setting inspiring-to-you goals and crafting your own "Best Day (or Month, Year, or Life) Ever".

Push-ups are simple. But that doesn't mean they're either easy or foolproof. Double-check that you're not making these two mistakes. Your results and shoulder health will thank you.

Do you struggle to stay consistent with your fitness or nutrition routines (or both)?
If so, there are likely two major culprits: First, you may (subconsciously) not really believe that you can improve. Second, you don't have simple, repeatable, results-producing strategies that fit your preferences.
The solution in these cases is *not* to try going from one extreme (not following any plan) to another (participating in an intense, hard-core challenge), but rather to build confidence by practicing a tiny, yet effective action.
What might such an action be? Check out "31 Simple" for one option.
It's simultaneously easy enough for beginners and challenging enough for "drifting" fitness veterans who need a fire lit under them. And it's quick enough that you won't have an excuse to not do it. (Seriously, it probably takes you longer to get dressed in the morning.)
Read it. Implement it. Improve. 🙂

Improve your flexibility in less time.
Improved flexibility enables us to move easier. It can also reduce related joint discomfort and improve our weight training results.
Unfortunately, most people don't spend time stretching because it's boring, doesn't seem to produce noticeable results, and takes too much time to complete.
If those reasons describe why you don't stretch, you'll love this workshop (on Saturday, November 26th)!
Learn how to apply proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) and reciprocal inhibition (RI) techniques to your stretching protocol to achieve a deeper stretch in less time. You'll also learn how to more easily lock in your improved flexibility after you've completed your stretching routine.
You'll get to practice the techniques in a few key stretches for the quads, hamstrings, spine/back, and shoulders; and you'll leave being far more flexible than when you arrived!
