You know those leg days where you can barely walk the next day? Where toilets or chairs are your enemy.

I had a day like that (where I definitely overdid it, which I super donโ€™t recommend) - I ended up pulling out my cups and just using them on my legs, flushing them out, stretching with the cups on some of those really angry spots and I s**t you not I got up from just that little bit and had zero pain.

From that point, I was a total believerโ€ฆand also started easing my way into things, rather than overdoing it ๐Ÿ˜‰

Gaaaah!!!! I am SO freaking Jessie Spano excited and proud of myself!

I hear it all the time.

Women who are trying to balance it all and are used to putting everyone and everything before themselves, so they use their โ€œbusynessโ€ as an excuse.

I want to get in shape and be healthy - but Iโ€™m so busy and I donโ€™t have time to exercise or cook a decent meal.


I want to start that business, but Iโ€™m just so busy, I donโ€™t have to time to make it work.


I want to have time for myself to get the massage, to read a book, to take a bath, to go for a walk, to whatever the thing is that I really really want to do that will make me happyโ€ฆ

but Iโ€™m just too busy!


I want to do the things that I know would make me happy, but Iโ€™m just so busy!


โ€œHow are you?โ€ I would tell you, but Iโ€™m just SOOOOO busy!


Iโ€™ve used one or twoโ€ฆorrrr *ahem* all of these at point or another. All itโ€™s done for me is created stress and overwhelmโ€ฆ

and THATโ€™S something I have zero time for! โœŒ๏ธ



Weโ€™ve been wearing our busyness like a badge of honor, when all it truly does is weigh on our shoulders, while giving us a grown up excuse to make us feel better, rather than putting in the uncomfortable effort that lives outside of our oh so busy, comfy cozy comfort zones.

Self love gets such a bad rap as being โ€œsnobbyโ€ or โ€œselfish.โ€

Treating yourself with love and kindness has been considered as selfish or conceited to some. Itโ€™s become normal to feel like weโ€™re not worthy or deserving of loving ourselves.

Iโ€™m here to tell you with all of the love and every fiber in my being

The other day I did a meditation all about how I want to feel.

Believe it or not, you have the power to change how you think, but more importantly how you F E E L.

Itโ€™s super easy to get stuck in a negative pattern, to react in a way that doesnโ€™t feel great and to swirl around in those guilt ridden โ€œwhat ifโ€™sโ€, coulda/woulda/shoulda, โ€œIโ€™ll never be good enoughโ€, gross feelings. It can make you feel trapped. Second guessing every little thing.

It can effect your relationships with others and with yourself.

It can cause you pain. Sleepless nights. Feeling โ€œstuckโ€.

For me, Iโ€™ve been feeling a little stressed about returning to work after maternity leave. I was feeling the tension in my arms, my face, my shoulders. And wouldnโ€™t you know, I ended up with a killer tension headache!

Aubrey was nice enough to go down for a nap, which allowed me to snooze a bit.

But you can also flip that s**t.

As Iโ€™m easing into this new way of life, Iโ€™m asking myself how I want to feel more and more. Who do I get to be as a Mom AND as all of the other awesome hats I wear?

How do you want to FEEL?
What might happen if you incorporate more of this feeling into your day? Your week?

Today I woke up and meditated and focused on what feeling I needed.
Calm? Meh, close, but no. Confident? Yeah, but no, not right now. Free? Love that
freeing feeling, but itโ€™s not quite it.

Chill. THATโ€™S IT! Ahhhhh chill.

How can I be more chill?
So I took a long hot shower. I listened to a โ€œchillโ€ playlist. I made it a mantra for the day.

โ€œI am chill.โ€

Holy crap! Maternity leave is coming to an end and I am so excited to work with my clients again!

In the last few months, Iย have leaned more into my own self care and who I get to be with all of the different hats that I wear. Iโ€™ve soaked up more of what ๐™ก๐™ž๐™œ๐™๐™ฉ๐™จ ๐™ข๐™š ๐™ช๐™ฅ ๐™ž๐™ฃ ๐™ก๐™ž๐™›๐™š ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™™ ๐™ง๐™š๐™ก๐™š๐™–๐™จ๐™š๐™™ ๐™ฌ๐™๐™–๐™ฉ ๐™›๐™š๐™š๐™ก๐™จ ๐™๐™š๐™–๐™ซ๐™ฎ ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™™ ๐™™๐™ง๐™–๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ. This of course has trickled from my personal life into my business, and what that gets to look like for myself and for you.ย

As I learn my way through the early days of motherhood, I see both how easy it is to fall in the frazzled trap of โ€œnot enough time for meโ€, and also how necessary it is to ask for help and create that time for me. And man, there is support ALL around!

Iโ€™m noticing how quick I can be to second guess myself on if Iโ€™m โ€œdoing it rightโ€ - whether itโ€™s being a good mom, wife, massage therapist, coach, human being.

I feel the tension in my face get narrower and tighter as I sit in the quiet during those 3am night feeds where I think and overthink different situations. And then I think about the fact that I'm overthinking! Tell me I'm not alone with this?!

๐’œ๐“ƒ๐’น ๐“‰๐’ฝ๐‘’๐“ƒ ๐ผ ๐“…๐’ถ๐“Š๐“ˆ๐‘’.

๐ผ ๐’ถ๐“ˆ๐“€ ๐’ป๐‘œ๐“‡ ๐’ฝ๐‘’๐“๐“….

Sometimes I take that time to shower...and not one of those โ€œquick! 3 minute shower while the baby is still asleep!โ€ but a long shower with my happy-go lucky Spotify playlist going and maybe even a hair wash or a good shower cry (which we all need every now and then, am I right?!)

I might move my body - I go for a walk or exercise or stretch. Sometimes Aubrey gets to help as an additional weight!

I learn something new...currently itโ€™s been EFT- something Iโ€™ve been wanting to dive deeper in for YEARS and will soon be able to add it to my toolbelt of services in the next month or so!! (more on that later!)

When I return from that pause, it makes a world of difference and Iโ€™m not as frazzled. I can recognize those second guesses for the gremlins that they are and move forward so much quicker. That tension releases. Iโ€™m able to bring myself back to the present.

Iโ€™m curious what your โ€œpauseโ€ may look like. What is one thing you could do today to take that exhale. Can you ask someone to take a bit of the weight off of your shoulders and switch the laundry or do the dishes? Can you take a few minutes to dance around to your favorite song?

This morning was a slow one. Body wanted to rest, brain wanted to get outside and read or do something โ€œproductiveโ€.

Body won.

I allowed myself to rest on the couch. It took several hours, but once I allowed myself what I needed, I was able to enjoy sitting outside and actually concentrate on the words on the pages, whereas before, I wouldโ€™ve just starred blindly at the same page, zoning out.

I was able to breathe in the beautiful smell of the lilac bush beside me, watch my dog rest his belly on the ground as he stretched out like a Sphinx - it cracks me up when he does this!

I witnessed the bumble bee couple dancing in a big circle in my backyard.

I felt the soft breeze come through as the fresh cut grass tickled my toes.

Finally, I looked up at the clouds. Oh, cloud watching! One of my favorite things as a kid... Laying in the grass or floating in the pool, looking up and watching the clouds pass by. The space where I would dream, where anything is possible, where I felt fully me. Fully free.

Whenโ€™s the last time you stopped and looked around and just witnessed all of the beauty around you? Itโ€™s so cleansing for the soul.

We have a tendency to be โ€œon the goโ€ and sometimes pride ourselves in that โ€œIโ€™m so busyโ€ mentality that weโ€™ve been conditioned into.

Thereโ€™s this belief that we as women are supposed to be ๐™จ๐™š๐™ก๐™›-๐™จ๐™–๐™˜๐™ง๐™ž๐™›๐™ž๐™˜๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ - in order to be nurturing or to get ahead.

Sometimes thereโ€™s a fear that creeps in that โ€œif I pause, Iโ€™ll lose momentumโ€, but the truth is, if you keep going, you risk burnout.

Pausing, resting, saying no - does not have to mean forever, my friend. It doesnโ€™t mean youโ€™re selfish or snobby for putting yourself first. ๐™„๐™ฉ ๐™ข๐™š๐™–๐™ฃ๐™จ ๐™ฎ๐™ค๐™ชโ€™๐™ง๐™š ๐™ฅ๐™ง๐™–๐™˜๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™˜๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ ๐™จ๐™š๐™ก๐™›-๐™ก๐™ค๐™ซ๐™š, which is the greatest gift we can give ourselves.

What are those cues in your body that tell you to rest or slow down? What are those feelings that come up that tell you to say "no" to things that donโ€™t feel good to you? What could that pause or that "no" look like for you?
