😘 Turning the Page to a New, Beautiful Chapter! 😍

Thank you all for the birthday wishes! It’s like Medicare and Social Security have become my personal birthday reminders, never missing a beat! πŸ˜‚

Now that I’m officially stepping into senior citizen-hood, it feels like opening a new chapter in the book of my life. And let me tell you, this chapter is already filled with joy, creativity, and endless possibilities. I’m blessed to be walking into this stage in perfect health, without the need for medications, and free from the stress of employment.

A year ago, I decided to close the chapter of my job, and it was the best decision I could have made. It has allowed me to embrace my true self and savor every beautiful moment. As I write this next part of my story, I’m filled with excitement and gratitude, knowing that each day is a blank page waiting to be filled with joy, purpose, and authenticity while being intentional.

Here’s to living boldly, celebrating our journey, and writing a story that’s truly our own. πŸ“–βœ¨

Life is like a single, precious journey, and it’s up to us to make every step count and leave footprints that tell our story. Freedom, like a rare gem, has its cost, and I’ve paid mine. But no matter the storms I face, my spirit and heart will always soar free like a bird in the open sky.

"Embrace Your Space: The Power of Saying No for a Balanced Soul"

Today, I'm reaching out with a gentle reminder: How are you feeling?

If you're caught in a whirlwind of tasks, feeling restless or overwhelmed, it might be the perfect moment for some introspection.

Consider taking a step back to assess your daily commitments. Dive deep into what truly resonates with your inner self versus what feels imposed. This could be your cue to master the graceful art of saying "no."

By setting boundaries in your personal life, you create space to engage with activities that truly light you up and contribute to your productivity. Think of this as an invitation to explore self-awareness and prioritize your well-being.

Remember, being swamped by work or personal duties does a disservice to both your physical and spiritual essence. Let's take this moment to pause and reflect.

Looking at this simple yet cheerful atmosphere below, it is a room designed to reflect a serene and joyful space that encourages balance and peace. Give yourself a moment to reflect and start again.

πŸ’  Exercising Maturity and Knowing when to Walk-Away: πŸ’

In a world that often prizes relentless pursuit, there's profound maturity in recognizing when to walk away. This choice, far from a sign of defeat, is a powerful statement of self-respect and a key to maintaining peace of mind.

Two pivotal reasons stand out:
1️⃣ First, it conserves energy for battles truly worth fighting, ensuring we're present where we can make the most impact.
2️⃣ Secondly, it fosters personal growth by letting go of situations that no longer serve our wellbeing. Embrace the strength in stepping back.

I am one person who strongly believes in Walking-Away from a situation that no longer agrees with my values.

**PASS Program Youth Graduation, Rochester, NY.**

I had the privilege of attending the PASS Program Youth Graduation in Rochester, NY. The Prevention, Access, Self-Empowerment Support program has been a beacon of hope for youth ages 13-17 in Monroe County for the past 28 years. Run by CCSI, this program not only empowers the youth but also includes parent involvement, making it a comprehensive support system.

Having been a part of the program in 2008, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of the 8 Keys of Excellence in mentoring both youth and adults. Today, as we celebrated the graduation, we heard heartwarming stories from the youth and their parents about the profound impact the program has had on their lives. It was truly inspiring to see the positive journey they have been on, from the beginning to the end.

If you're curious to learn more about this incredible program, let me know. The program supports families after graduation as well. Both Youth and Parents have a mentor.

A big shout-out to Lenora Rose, the visionary creator; Neville Morris, the dedicated facilitator; and CCSI, the innovative organization behind it all. Their focus on strengthening both youth and families is truly commendable. Here's to many more years of empowering and inspiring our future generations! πŸŽ“πŸŒŸ

🐒 "Empowering Success Through Strong Networks: Workforce's Commitment to Mutual Support and Growth"

At Workforce, we understand the vital role of strong, supportive networks in overcoming professional challenges. Inspired by "The Turtle Scenario,” we're reminded that success hinges on surrounding ourselves with allies genuinely invested in our journey. Not everyone will extend a helping hand, but those who do become our pillars of strength.

Emphasizing the philosophy that failure is not an option, we advocate for a network where support means lifting each other in times of need. We believe in the power of collective wisdom and resilience, advocating for a community where learning, humility, and gratitude are at the core.

Let's commit to being there for each other, fostering an environment of mutual growth and support. With Workforce, you're never alone in the water or on your journey. Together, we can turn challenges into triumphs, proving that with the right people by our side, every hurdle becomes surmountable.

πŸ‘‘ Embracing Your Crown and Values! πŸ’ͺ
-- Share the πŸ’•

Growing up, I was taught that a woman's hair is her crown/glory. That's why you'll never catch me stepping out without giving mine the royal treatment. But beyond the surface, I was also raised to treasure my character and self-respectβ€”and those lessons still hold true today.

Because let's face it: once you lose sight of your character and self-respect, it's a tough climb back up. People tend to remember the missteps before acknowledging the good.

As I navigate through life's twists and turns in creating a culture for YES Workforce, I'm constantly reminded of the invaluable teachings that have guided me thus far. Moral values aren't just something you pick up on the street or at work; they're ingrained in you from homeβ€”they're part of who you are.

So, ladies, wear your crowns proudly! Keep holding onto your character and self-respect as you brave the storms. Remember your roots; they've shaped the resilient, strong woman you are today. 🌟

🚨 Small Business 🚨
Protecting your business and greatest asset is a priority.

Beware of an official-looking letter related to "Business Ownership Reporting" from United Business Regulation with a mailing address at 1032 15th St NW #364, Washington, DC 20005-1502. The cost of $117 is requested, and they are sending you the form 4022 along with a self-addressed envelope but you need to apply your stamp. This form DOES NOT EXIST within the United States Government.

These are targeting , so be sure to keep an eye out. As of January 2024, all must report information related to their business, and this applies to "all" opened before 2024. The good news? " The actual form is called: ➑ Business Ownership Information (BOI). β¬… Businesses should file on the FINCEN.GOV website.

🎬 : FinCEN launched the BOI E-Filing website for reporting beneficial ownership information (https://lnkd.in/gFGpUAZK) on January 1, 2024. A reporting company created or registered to do business before January 1, 2024, will have until January 1, 2025, to file its initial BOI report.

The are very clever they renamed the form "Mandatory Business Ownership Reporting" while the official form is called: ➑ Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) Reporting. β¬… Filing is simple, secure, and free of charge. Companies that are required to comply (β€œreporting companies”) must file their initial reports by the following deadlines:
πŸ“’ Existing companies: Reporting companies created or registered to do business in the United States before January 1, 2024 must file by January 1, 2025.
πŸ”” Newly created or registered companies: Reporting companies created or registered to do business in the United States in 2024 have 90 calendar days to file after receiving actual or public notice that their company’s creation or registration is effective.

Stay vigilant and protect your business from scams like this. Check out the link below for more information on the scam and how to protect yourself. https://lnkd.in/g2PPhMrx

I have included a copy of the form that was mailed to me. This may protect some businesses from being scammed and later receive a fine from the United States Government because they did not file in time.

🌟 Friendly Reminder: Happy Kwanzaa! 🌟

Hey everyone!

I know it might have seemed like I forgot about the Kwanzaa season this year, but that's definitely not the case. I've just been swamped lately, but I'm catching up now. Kwanzaa is a time to celebrate and reflect on the 7 principles that it embodies, and I wholeheartedly believe in each one of them.

As we're in the midst of the Kwanzaa celebrations, which started on December 26th, let's take a moment to reflect on the first three days:

Umoja (Unity): To strive for and maintain unity in the family, community, nation, and race.

Kujichagulia (Self-Determination): To define ourselves, name ourselves, create for ourselves, and speak for ourselves.
Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility): To build and maintain our community together and make our brothers' and sisters' problems our problems, and to solve them together.

Kwanzaa ends on January 1st each year, giving us a wonderful opportunity to start the new year with these powerful principles in our hearts and minds.

Let's continue celebrating and embracing these values!

12/29/2023

Day 4 of Kwanzaa -- Ujama
As we celebrate Day 4 of Kwanzaa, focusing on the principle of Ujamaa, we are reminded of the strength and potential of cooperative economics. YES Workforce is committed to embodying this principle by supporting and building strong networks within the community.

Today, let's reflect on how we can contribute to the growth and success of black-owned businesses. It's not just about building our own stores and shops; it's about creating a thriving ecosystem where we can profit together and uplift the community.

By supporting YES Workforce, you're not only investing in the economic empowerment of individual entrepreneurs but also fostering a sense of unity and collective progress. Let's harness the power of Ujamaa to create lasting change and prosperity for all.

October 3, 2023: yesterday, TechBuffalo hosted an engaging Community Conversation at BNMC. We immersed ourselves in the captivating stories of our panelists, gaining insights into the challenges and triumphs of their entrepreneurial journeys. It's heartening to see how Buffalo is nurturing a burgeoning tech ecosystem, with TechBuffalo at the forefront.
A special thanks to Rachel Eastlack, MSW for extending an invitation to be part of this enriching dialogue and allowing YES Workforce the chance to showcase our initiative at the event. As we chart our course for the upcoming year, I'm on the lookout for dedicated Board of Directors members to help lead this challenge in our community.
Our goal: To revolutionize the experience for job seekers and foster a socio-economic environment that benefits everyone, employers included. I'm thrilled to share that four individuals have expressed interest in joining our mission and potentially taking on Board roles.
Our guiding principles are commitment, resource collaboration, and fostering community ties. We plan monthly gatherings that should last no more than 1.5 hours (in person or virtual), summing up to about 5-8 hours monthly of your valuable time. Yet, impactful change requires collective effort. If you're keen to contributeβ€”be it in a big, moderate, or modest capacityβ€”please reach out to me on LinkedIn or via email: [email protected]. The upcoming months are pivotal, and there's much to achieve.

Celebrating Women's Equality Day: I haven't seen much on this so I thought I'd post because as a woman it is important.

Women's Equality Day is celebrated annually on August 26th in the United States. The day commemorates the 1920 certification of the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution, which granted women the right to vote. This day serves as a reminder of the continued fight for gender equality. It highlights the progress made and the work still to be done in areas such as equal pay, reproductive rights, and combating gender-based violence.
