I am absolutely blessed with amazing clients (friends) who intrust me to work with their children in speech therapy. I have never had such an outpour of gratitude and love than I have this week. My heart is overflowing with gratitude towards all of these families and God for giving me the courage to follow my dreams and start this practice. I am looking forward to many more years and helping so many more children and families! God bless yall!

Zyrtec and it's correlation with Stuttering in children!

The only reason I ever found this out, was because my own daughter began taking Zyrtec for allergies. Within 30 minutes and over the next couple of days, she began stuttering severely. Since the medication was the only new thing, we stopped it. Two days later, her speech was back to normal. Being the SLP that I am, we gave it to her one more time, just to double-check, and sure enough, the stuttering came back.

I do my best to warn other parents and SLP's about this possible side-effect. As of today, I have had 5 other SLP's text me or email me to say that this was the reason for their student's stuttering! Please share!

Concerned about your childs speech and language? I offer free consultations and discuss your options at that time. Many parents seek new evaluations and therapy sessions, but it is also recommended that your child receive supplemental therapy through private practice even if your child is seen through the schools. Those extra supplemental sessions can reduce your child's time out of class by shortening their time in therapy.
