At our co-op, we are deeply committed to providing our members and customers with the highest quality seafood sourced through sustainable and responsible practices. Our dedication to sustainability is validated by our adherence to the industry's most respected standards, ensuring that our seafood not only meets rigorous quality benchmarks but also supports the health of our oceans and aquatic ecosystems.

We proudly uphold the following certifications:
• Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP): This certification ensures that our aquaculture processes meet comprehensive standards for environmental responsibility, social accountability, animal welfare, and food safety.

Happy Juneteenth! Today we celebrate freedom, resilience, and the rich cultural heritage of the African American community. Join us in recognizing this important day by supporting Black-owned businesses.

Why do we celebrate Juneteenth? We celebrate Juneteenth to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States, marking the day on June 19, 1865, when news of their freedom finally reached Texas, the last Confederate state. This holiday honors African American culture and history, recognizing the enduring struggle for freedom and equality.

You can find always a list of black-owned businesses we carry in store on our Inclusive Trade webpage here: https://www.valleynaturalfoods.com/inclusivetrade/
