In “Maximize Your Summer for Fall Recruitment Success”, CodePath’s Career Services team will share their top tips for building your resume, experience, and skills over the upcoming summer regardless of whether you have an internship planned! We will cover ways we have seen students use this time to their advantage to position themselves for success in future recruitment cycles and how CodePath might play a role supporting you on this path with our courses and resources. We’ll also have Chick-Fil-A, hope to see you there!

Through the program, mentees will get paired up with an older LiFT member who either has experience working in the field that mentees are interested in or has extensive knowledge about that field.

After pairings have occurred, mentees will be able to get LiFT-sponsored coffee with their mentors. Additionally, there will be a brunch event with all mentees and mentors, including games and delicious food (date TBD).

Meet Elio Torres, our LiFT 2022–2023 Freshman Representative! 🎉

Elio is part of the Harvard College Class of 2026, and he studies Government, with a secondary in Economics!

Elio joined LiFT because “throughout high school, [he] worked closely with the New York City Council on policy work, where [he] navigated social policy issues and helped pass a bill that expanded street vendor permit access in our city. Having worked with a largely Hispanic, undocumented population in New York City, [he wants] to continue to merge [his] interest in policy, law, and consulting with [his] identity as a Latino male. Harvard LiFT ushers [him] in that direction.”

Luciana joined LiFT because “as a[n] FGLI student, [she] came in knowing very little of the finance and tech world. [She] wanted to learn more and [she] noticed the amount of resources and support made available for Latinx students at LiFT. [She] was excited to join a network of students who [she] could learn with and from!”

Meet Eric Olvera, our LiFT 2022–2023 VP of Consulting!

Eric is part of the Harvard College Class of 2023, and he studies Psychology!

Eric joined LiFT because “the pre-professional world can seem incredibly out of reach and inaccessible to Latinxs. [He] want[s] to reassure Latinxs that this is not the case, and that somewhere out there is a desk and a check with their name written on it. [He] hopes to serve as a mentor for other Latinxs, especially those who don’t know much about Consulting (because neither did [he]).”

Meet Kilbert Báez-Arias, our LiFT 2022–2023 VP of Operations! 🎉

Kilbert is part of the Harvard College Class of 2024, and he studies Sociology, with a secondary field in Linguistics! He is also pursuing a language citation in modern Greek.

Kilbert joined LiFT because “[he] wanted to help a friend strengthen the club after two years of limited events, to get connected with other Latin Americans at Harvard, and to see where [he] fits in the professional world.”

Meet Santiago Saldivar, our LIFT 2023 Co-President!🎉

Santiago is part of the Harvard Class of 2024 & he studies Applied Mathematics with a focus in economics! He is also pursuing a French citation.

Santiago joined LIFT because “[he] was curious about learning more on the industries that interested me, such as consulting, finance, and tech! [He] has stayed because the people are welcoming, the community is comforting, and have helped [him] in pursuing internships!”

Maria is part of the Harvard Class of 2024 & she studies Neuroscience with a a secondary in Economics!

Maria joined LIFT because “although I had formed genuine connections with others, I still felt that I was missing a tight-knit community. I wanted to create a space that would make the Latine community at Harvard stronger, while also building connections, networking, and gaining pre-professional skills. I wanted to revive LiFT post-covid.”
