We are hiring a school janitorial person. This person can pass a background check to work with children, is courteous with everyone, and is a self starter who knows/sees what needs to be done and handles it without micromanaging. They will ensure our new building is always clean, organized and safe - inside and out.

After a weekend of hard work, we are seeing classrooms getting more decorated and closer to being ready with library shelves filled. We need to deliver texts and general supplies but we are making progress!

Our new school has 15 classrooms with a multi-purpose room that can be one huge room and up to 3 classrooms with retractable walls. It has a large lobby, office, and conference room as well.
It’s equipped with AI enhanced security cameras inside and out as well as electronic access management for increased safety. Every room has a large smart TV for teachers to share their computer screens on and individual internet access points to keep slow WiFi issues away. It’s on 5 acres with separate areas for younger and older students to be outside.

We can’t wait to share it with students. We are SO close!

We have grass, mulch and numbers on our building!
Our teachers have been decorating classrooms, building furniture, and moving everything from our old school here.
Classrooms are set up with desks and chairs and supplies are on site.
It really is turning out to be beautiful inside and out!

It was another great day at the new school site! We now have doors, white boards and tv’s!
The bathrooms were completed as were the baseboard trims.
We have curbs down to where the slip lane is going on Union Hill and our driveway is being poured at 4am!
We are SOO close!!!!

We saw so much progress today!
The curbs are almost to the street and the driveway will be poured at 4am on Wednesday. More sidewalk was poured and the wall behind the parking lot was finished. The window awnings are going up right now.
Inside we have wood floors in every room, more ceilings, our office counter, drinking fountain/ water bottle refill stations, and bathroom fixtures. Our white boards and tv’s go up tomorrow. Doors will be installed tomorrow.
We are excited to see landscape this week and are so excited to see our students in class soon!

There are about 50 people here at least today working!
Outside we have guys doing more curbs, grading and parking and making their way down to the driveways on Union Hill.
They are working on the canopies that overhand windows and carpool as well. The exterior is getting painted.
Inside they are working on ceilings and floors.
I can’t wait to see the progress as they complete all of this over the weekend!

It’s another crazy busy day at the school site! These guys are working hard and it’s HOT out!
Our floors are going in and they look great! They will complete these this weekend.
The ceilings are still being completed and these will also be done this weekend.
We have more sidewalk and parking lot today . More concrete will be poured still today and tomorrow.
The painters are repainting the white outside to a neutral color that matches the grey and brick better than the white which was pulling a green tint from the woods that we didn’t love.
The graders continued to work on the driveways so they can be poured.
We are just days away from completion!

I don’t think I have ever been so excited to see a light switch with a cover on it 🤣.
I am guessing there were literally about 80 people on site today working. It was so crowded and the Latimer guys were getting it done!
Paint trim, concrete prep, finishing touches and we have heavy machines leaving! This is exciting - we are SO close!
Floors, more outside concrete, more ceiling work and septic with inspection are on the agenda for tomorrow!

The fire inspector was also on site when we visited this afternoon. We think that there are about 60 guys on site today. It’s a busy place!
Electricians, concrete, retaining wall, interior trim paint, and ceiling grids are all happening side by side. Latimer and Woodall have a lot going on here today!

Our floors were delivered today as well.
We also got to order our very first mail to be delivered to the new address and that was exciting!
We are SO close!

We had a huge amount of progress today. Outside, sidewalks and curbs continued to be poured and the parking lot and outdoor play area will be poured Wednesday. The electrical system was installed and inspected and we are ready for GA Power to turn us on. The retaining wall behind the parking lot was worked on and we got our fire hydrant.
Inside the rooms are painted and trim is being worked on. We switched flooring for a quicker install and teachers will be moving in soon!
Our amazing team of teachers (plus one husband and some kids!) put together over 100 new desks at our old location today and our textbooks have been delivered and organized.
Latimer and Woodall have the guys working and we can’t be more thankful. We are SO close!!!,

We are at the school now and the workers have left for the day. Some rooms are painted, the wall has been started, and more curbs and forms for sidewalks are here.
Crossing fingers tomorrow brings a ton of progress from Latimer Construction and Integra Contracting.

A visit this am to the site showed us that there are painters, pipe guys, and concrete guys on site working and making progress!

We bought our land from the Cook family. We heard stories of the Cook children playing in the woods here for the last 100 years or so that they have owned it when we first walked it. It reminded me of one of my favorite stories, Bridge to Terabithia. It was the perfect piece of land for our Haven.
We are creating a family garden to show our appreciation for the history of the land.

Comcast was getting us hooked up today while Latimer crews worked inside and out. Caulking and trim work are in the pics below .
While we are sad to announce to our enrolled families that we are delayed in our opening, we are grateful that we are expecting it to only be a week.
It looks like by the end of week next week this place will beautiful and ready for kids to come in! We cannot wait!

Our fifth grade teacher, Jennifer, brought in baked breakfast goodies from her company, The Baker's Daughters today .
We were all in heaven. These treats were fresh, delicious, and definitely not on the diet but worth every single calorie!

It’s hard to see but those are ceiling tile wires just waiting for a ceiling to be added.
The stone for the parking lot wall is here and going up .
Our teachers are all back to work and getting ready for your kids and a great school year!

Driveway work was happening so we were blocked from seeing much of what was happening inside the building on our visit. Latimer construction and Integra Contracting have the guys burying pipes and getting the driveways and parking lot ready for concrete. Hoping for a dry weather week. 🤞

We have wall prep for painting, more window installation and outdoor pipe work happening! 🎉💪🚜
