For the first time in 35 years Michelle walked into a Salvation Army looking for help. Michelle has worked at the same company for 14 years, but her insurance does not cover medical absences, so she planned ahead for her anticipated back surgery and lengthy recovery. She saved money in a shoebox and stockpiled non-perishable foods. But when a second, and very unexpected, injury followed by surgery extended her time off work, she found her resources would not last until she returned to work in late April 2023.
The Salvation Army happily filled that gap w/ food, clothing, household vouchers, gas cards, new dishes, hygiene and cleaning supplies, & even pet food for her 2 dogs and 2 cats. Much more than Michelle ever expected! But just what she needed and deserved!
