🧡In February the women of LPZ are partnering with the students at Da Vinci School to bring them aware of teen dating violence (TDV) and abusive relationships and show them how to cultivate healthy dating practices, self-love, and, how to support their peers impacted by TDV.

‼️Did you know that 1 in 3 teens have experienced intimate partner violence? The impact of teen dating violence is immense, affecting the physical, emotional, and mental health, and development of our youth.

❌Unhealthy, abusive, or violent relationships can have short-and long-term negative effects, including severe consequences, on a developing teen. Youth who are victims of teen dating violence are more likely to:

⁃ Experience depression and anxiety symptoms
⁃ Engage in unhealthy behaviors, like using to***co, drugs, and alcohol
⁃ Exhibit antisocial behaviors, like lying, theft, bullying, or hitting
⁃ Think about su***de

🧡Bringing Awareness to Teen Dating Violence

Our efforts don’t end here! We will persist in sharing resources, educating communities, and empowering our youth until society has zero tolerance for teen dating violence.

Black History Month is an annual observance created in 1926 by Carter G. Woodson that originated as a week-long celebration, coinciding with the birthdays of Fredrick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln.

Over the years, the observance increased in popularity throughout the US; and in 1969, ‘Black United’ students at Kent State University proposed extending the celebration to a month. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated is proud to both honor the Extraordinary Black women from our past who have paved the way for progress, and pay tribute to those Finer women who are shaping our future by making history each and everyday!

Join us as we pay homage to our trailblaZers past, present and future and remind the world that Black History is more than just a month. Black History is the world’s history and it should be celebrated everyday throughout the year!

The Autism Awareness Ribbon - what does it mean? The puzzle ribbon was adopted in 1999 as the universal sign of autism awareness. The puzzle 🧩pattern reflects the complexity of the autism spectrum.

The different colors and shapes represent the diversity of the people and families living with the condition.
💙 One year ago today, Autism Awareness Month was re-designated Autism Acceptance Month. The terminology change is small but significant and powerful. Awareness is knowing that something is happening. Accepting means intentionally creating a space for inclusion and belonging. In this instance, accepting a person with autism would look like including them in activities within your community and helping them to develop and connect with others in the environment. By doing this, we create a world where people with autism feel empowered and can live fully.

Throughout the month, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated will share information on how our society can become more inclusive for those living on the spectrum.
