Building the dental workforce is critical in providing oral care to North Carolinians. The NC Dental Society Foundation is investing in dental hygiene and dental assisting students at Cape Fear Community College, empowering future dental teams across the state.

Fifteen dental hygiene and assisting students at Central Piedmont Community College received scholarships from the Foundation to assist in academic endeavors.

New 2025 leadership was named during the NC Dental Society's House of Delegates:

⭐ Dr. Roslyn Crisp (Burlington) will become NC Dental Society President on November 1, 2024
⭐ Dr. Shelley Olson (Oxford) will assume the role of President-Elect
⭐ Dr. Brad Adams (Goldsboro) will be Vice President
⭐ Dr. Stan Hardesty (Raleigh) will serve a three-year term as ADA Delegate-At-Large

An electronic ballot will be emailed Friday afternoon. In the meantime, take a moment to review the seven candidates running for one open ADA Delegate-At-Large seat: ncdental.org/elect25

🌟 Meet Dr. Josh Cook (Fayetteville) - the recipient of last year's Student Leadership in Organized Dentistry Award

🌟 Dr. Cook (ECU School of Dental Medicine) earned a B.S. in Cell and Molecular Biology from East Carolina University and participated in the School of Dental Medicine’s Pre-Matriculation Summer Scholars Research Program before completing his D.M.D. at the ECU SoDM. His exceptional achievements both academically and clinically include the study of community oral health risk tracking (COHORT) data, volunteerism as part of the school’s Sonríe clinic, his role as President of the Class of 2023 and his election to President of the SoDM’s Student Government. Dr. Cook is entering the AEGD residency program at the VA Hospital in Fayetteville. We were thrilled to recognize him with an NC Dental Society award.
